How Great a Love

Things Worth Knowing
1 John 3:1-3

Behold and see what kind of love,
The Father has given to us;
That has been bestowed from above,
To be children of God as thus.

The reason the world does not know,
Because the fact they knew Him not;
Unknown to them as friend or foe,
Upon their own that they had sought.

Behold, we are children of God,
What will be not yet to appear;
But we need to honor and laud,
As we ensure as to revere.

When He appears then we shall know,
For we shall see Him as is He;
Seeing His righteous glory glow,
Through His Word that He did decree.

Everyone in Him who does hope,
Purifies himself to be pure;
Although while on earth must cope,
The Father soothes to reassure.
