PERSEVERANCE IN SERVICE

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Your labour is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV

The reflection of the context of our anchor Scripture is on the encouragement to remain steadfastly diligent in your walk and work with God. This comes with the assurance that your labour will not be in vain, and that your rewards awaits you as you persevere in service. For you, as a believing child of God, you're faced with many distractions to make you to forget that this world isn't your home, that you should be living with eternity in view. Being at home with Christ Jesus in a home specially prepared for you when you get to Heaven should be your ultimate desired reward for how well you fulfilled your God-given assignment here on earth.

Here are three specifics to keep in mind. Though you might be opportuned to receive some physical, material, financial or social rewards here, but your greatest reward will be in Heaven, not on earth.

1). Your reward will without doubt be based on the quality, and not the multiplicity of what you've done. God is not impressed with your outward doings, but is moved by the sincerity of your heart.

2). When you've done what is needed, yet you were ignored and misunderstood, when you've done the right thing but received neither credit nor acknowledgment; when you've served, given, and sacrificed, then willingly stepped aside so God would get all the glory, don't forget to remember that, "Your labour is not in vain." (1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV).

3). The LORD Jesus says: 'Your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.' (Matthew 6:4 NLT).

PRAYER BULLETS:

LORD Jesus, thank You for opening the eyes of my mind to understand that my reward is waiting for me. Help me to remain resolved to receive this reward in spite of the seeming distractions and difficulties.

FURTHER READING:

Mark 10:30; 1 Corinthians 3:13-14; Matthew 6:4.
