🕊️ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 141 DATE: 21ST MAY 2026 TOPIC: THE CALL TO REALIGNMENT ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: 1 SAMUEL 7:3 (NKJV) “Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, ‘If you return to the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the Lord, and serve Him only; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.’” — Devotional Message: The children of Israel found themselves continually defeated by the Philistines. Lives were being lost, cities were captured, and fear had filled the land. Tired of repeated defeat, they sought to know the root of the problem and how restoration could come. Through Samuel, God revealed the issue clearly: the problem was not merely external enemies, but internal misalignment with God.Israel had drifted from God’s ways and allowed compromise, idolatry, and divided devotion into their lives. As a result, they lost the advantage of God’s covering and help. Samuel instructed them to return wholeheartedly to the Lord, put away foreign gods, prepare their hearts, and serve God alone. When they humbled themselves through fasting, confession, repentance, and prayer, the Lord answered and restored them. This remains true for believers today.Many people wonder why certain areas of life seem dry, stagnant, or continually under defeat—whether spiritually, in marriage, ministry, business, finances, or personal walk with God. Often, the issue is not that God has changed, but that alignment with Him has been lost. Sometimes familiarity with God can lead people into compromise, assuming grace allows them to continue living outside God’s ways while still expecting the same results and favor.But God calls His people into alignment:Alignment with His Word,Alignment with holiness,alignment with obedience,alignment with godly character and conduct,alignment with wholehearted devotion and when believers return sincerely to God, He restores what was lost. Scripture records that after Israel repented and realigned themselves with God, the Lord fought for them, subdued their enemies, and restored the cities they had lost. Beloved, restoration follows repentance and realignment.No matter how far one has drifted, God remains merciful and willing to restore every surrendered heart. Prayer: Heavenly Father, search my heart and reveal every area where I have drifted away from Your will. Help me to return to You wholeheartedly and to walk in alignment with Your Word and ways. Remove every compromise and distraction from my life. Restore every area that has suffered defeat and let Your hand rest upon me again for victory and advancement. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
