*DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 142*
*DATE: 22ND MAY 2026*
*TOPIC: SEE YOURSELF THROUGH THE LENS OF GOD’S WORD _1*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: 1 SAMUEL 9:21 (NKJV)*
*“And Saul answered and said, ‘Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak like this to me?’”*
*Devotional Message:*
When Saul encountered Samuel, the prophet began revealing God’s purpose and calling upon his life. Yet Saul immediately responded from a place of limitation, insecurity, and inferiority. Instead of seeing himself according to God’s calling, he saw himself according to his background, tribe, and family status.
This is the same struggle many believers face today. Many people disqualify themselves from greatness, leadership, ministry, influence, success, and even from receiving God’s promises because they focus more on: Their family background, financial condition, education level, community or upbringing, weaknesses and limitations. Rather than viewing themselves through the lens of God’s Word, they accept the negative voices and whispers of the enemy.
Gideon also saw himself as weak and insignificant. Moses focused on his lack of eloquence. Jeremiah believed he was too young. Yet God was not limited by their weaknesses because His strength is perfected in human weakness.
Beloved, if God only used qualified, strong, and perfect people, then no one could truly glorify Him. God delights in using ordinary people who surrender to Him so that His power may be revealed.
The enemy understands the power of thoughts, words, and identity. That is why he constantly plants thoughts of inferiority, fear, inadequacy, failure, and limitation in the minds of believers. When such thoughts are entertained continually: They become beliefs, Beliefs become words, Words influence actions, Actions shape destiny and lifestyle.
Eventually, many people begin living below God’s purpose because they accepted lies instead of truth. But God never created His children to live in defeat, hopelessness, fear, or limitation. Scripture declares that we are chosen, royal, victorious, and more than conquerors through Christ Jesus.
Therefore, believers must reject every lie of the enemy and align their minds with what God says concerning them in His Word.
*Prayer* :
Heavenly Father, help me to see myself the way You see me. Deliver me from every spirit of fear, inferiority, limitation, and self-rejection. Renew my mind through Your Word and help me reject every lie of the enemy. Teach me to speak, think, and act according to Your truth concerning my life. Strengthen me to walk boldly in the purpose You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
