TODAY'S MESSAGE

MANY PEOPLE ARE BUSY IN CHURCH, BUT EMPTY SPIRITUALLY.

Activity Is Not Always Spirituality
One of the greatest deceptions in the body of Christ today is this: many people are active in church, but disconnected from God internally.
Some sing in the choir but no longer sing in their hearts to God.
Some preach sermons but no longer hear God personally.
Some attend every program but have lost intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
Some are busy with titles, meetings, and church activities, yet empty of prayer, holiness, love, and power.
A man can stand in the river and still die of thirst if he never drinks.
God is not only looking for workers in His house — He is looking for worshippers who truly know Him.
Jesus warned the church about this danger. External activity without inward life leads to spiritual dryness.

Key Bible Verses

Matthew 7:22–23
> “Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name… and in Your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you.”
Jesus was speaking about people who were active spiritually but lacked genuine relationship with Him. They had ministry without intimacy.
Revelation 3:1
> “You have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.”
The church in Sardis looked alive outwardly, but spiritually it was dying inwardly.
2 Timothy 3:5
> “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.”
This is religion without transformation.
John 15:5
> “Without Me, you can do nothing.”
Church activity without Christ produces emptiness.
1. BUSYNESS IN CHURCH DOES NOT EQUAL SPIRITUAL GROWTH
A person can be occupied with church programs and still be spiritually weak.
Martha was busy serving Jesus, but Mary sat at His feet and received life.
Luke 10:41–42
> “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed…”
Jesus was not condemning service. He was correcting misplaced priorities.
Many believers today:
Know church schedules but not Scripture
Know church politics but not prayer
Know religious language but not God’s voice
God never called us to replace intimacy with activity.
Spiritual Insight
The devil is comfortable with believers being busy — as long as they remain spiritually empty.
2. IT IS POSSIBLE TO MINISTER TO OTHERS AND NEGLECT YOUR OWN SOUL
Many workers are pouring out publicly while drying up privately.
A preacher can preach powerful messages and secretly struggle with prayerlessness.
A chorister can lead worship and still not worship God personally.
An usher can organize people while their own spiritual life is disorganized.
1 Corinthians 9:27
> “I discipline my body… lest after preaching to others, I myself should become disqualified.”
Even Apostle Paul understood this danger.

Biblical Example: Samson

Samson carried power outwardly, but spiritually he became careless inwardly. Eventually, he lost strength without realizing it.
Judges 16:20
> “He did not know that the Lord had departed from him.”
That is one of the most dangerous spiritual conditions: losing God’s presence without noticing it.
3. GOD DESIRES RELATIONSHIP MORE THAN RELIGIOUS PERFORMANCE
Christianity is not merely attendance; it is fellowship with Christ.
God wants:
Your heart before your service
Your devotion before your performance
Your surrender before your sacrifice
Hosea 6:6
> “I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”
Many people are performing for God without walking with God.
Church can become routine:
Sing songs without meaning them
Pray without faith
Read the Bible without meditation
Attend services without transformation
But God is calling His people back to genuine intimacy.
4. SPIRITUAL EMPTINESS SHOWS IN DAILY LIFE
When a believer is spiritually empty:
Little temptation overcomes them
Prayer becomes a burden
Worship becomes mechanical
Sin becomes easier
Anger, bitterness, jealousy, and pride increase
They depend on motivational messages instead of God’s presence
A spiritually empty believer may still look religious externally, but internally there is no fire.
Galatians 5:22–23
The fruit of the Spirit disappears when intimacy with God is neglected.

Real-Life Illustration

A phone may look beautiful outside, but without battery power it cannot function.
Many believers look spiritually fine publicly, but privately they are disconnected from the Source.
Church attendance cannot replace daily fellowship with God.
5. GOD CAN RESTORE THE EMPTY SOUL
The good news is this: spiritual emptiness is not the end.
God specializes in reviving dry hearts.
Psalm 23:3
> “He restores my soul.”
Ezekiel 37:1–10
God brought dry bones back to life again.
No matter how dry, cold, or distant a believer has become, revival is still possible.
When prayer returns, fire returns.
When repentance returns, power returns.
When intimacy returns, joy returns.

Practical Action Steps

1. Return to Personal Prayer
Stop depending only on church services for spiritual strength.
Develop a private altar with God daily.
2. Study the Word Deeply
Do not only listen to sermons — study Scripture personally.
3. Examine Your Heart Regularly
Ask yourself:
Am I growing spiritually?
Do I still hunger for God?
Is my service flowing from love or routine?
4. Reduce Spiritual Performance
Do not focus on appearing spiritual before people.
Focus on being genuine before God.
5. Ask the Holy Spirit for Fresh Fire
Revival begins when believers become honest about their condition.

Questions for Reflection

1. Am I busy for God but disconnected from God?
2. When last did I truly enjoy prayer?
3. Is my spiritual life real privately or only public?
4. Do I seek God’s presence more than church recognition?
5. If all church activities stopped today, would my relationship with God still remain strong?

Powerful Prayer Points

1. Father, deliver me from empty religion in Jesus’ name.
2. Lord, restore my hunger and passion for You.
3. Holy Spirit, revive every dry area of my spiritual life.
4. Father, let my relationship with You become deeper than my church activities.
5. Lord, remove hypocrisy, spiritual pride, and routine from my life.
6. Let fresh fire fall upon my prayer life again.
7. Father, make me spiritually alive and fruitful.

Call to Action

God is not impressed by mere activity. Heaven is not moved by titles, appearances, or religious performance.
What matters most is this:
Do you truly know Him?
Do you walk with Him?
Is your heart alive toward God?
The church does not only need busy workers. The church needs spiritually alive believers filled with truth, holiness, love, prayer, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Today, God is calling His people back:
Back to prayer
Back to holiness
Back to intimacy
Back to genuine Christianity
Do not settle for looking spiritual while dying internally.
May your heart burn for God again.
May your spiritual life come alive again.
May your relationship with Christ become deeper than ever before.
In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
