*DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 144*
*DATE: 24TH MAY 2026*
*TOPIC: THE ANOINTING FIRST TRANSFORMS*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:— 1 SAMUEL 10:6 (NKJV)*
*“Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.”*
Devotional Message:
Many believers desire the power of God, the gifts of the Spirit, miracles, signs, and great manifestations of the anointing. Yet one important truth that Scripture reveals is that the first assignment of the anointing is transformation before manifestation.
When Samuel spoke to Saul concerning the Spirit of God coming upon him, he declared that Saul would be “turned into another man.” This shows that before the anointing ushers a person into influence, authority, or power, it first works upon the inner man—especially the heart.
God is deeply concerned about the condition of the heart because the heart determines character, speech, actions, and direction in life. Scripture teaches that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he, and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Therefore, before God entrusts a person with power, He first desires to transform their nature, desires, motives, and character to reflect Christ.
The anointing is not merely for public display or spiritual gifts—it is also meant to break yokes within us first.
According to Isaiah, the anointing breaks every yoke. This includes:bondages of sin, wrong appetites and addictions,Pride and selfish ambition,Lust, anger, bitterness, and rebellion,Carnal desires and destructive habits.
Before God uses a vessel greatly outwardly, He first works inwardly.
This is why many people seek power but neglect surrender, holiness, and transformation. Yet true spiritual authority flows from alignment with God and a yielded heart.
Beloved, God does not only want to use you—He first wants to shape you.
For if power is given to an untransformed heart, it can lead to pride, destruction, misuse, and spiritual downfall. But when the heart is purified and surrendered, the anointing becomes safe in the hands of that believer.
*Prayer:*
Heavenly Father, thank You for the work of Your Spirit in my life. Before I seek power or influence, transform my heart and make me more like Jesus Christ. Break every yoke, wrong desire, addiction, pride, and ungodly pattern within me. Purify my motives and help me to walk in surrender and obedience. Prepare me to carry Your anointing faithfully and safely for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
