THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD (Part 14)
Anchor Scripture: Psalm 78:5–7 (NKJV)
“For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; that the generation to come might know them… that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.”
Additional Scripture Reading: Romans 10:17; Ephesians 1:17–18; Hebrews 11:6; Joshua 1:8; 2 Timothy 2:2
Asaph reveals to us in the book of Psalms how God commanded the fathers to teach His laws and testimonies to their children, who in turn would pass them on to the next generation. The purpose was that every generation would place their trust in God, never forget His works, and continually walk in obedience to His commands.
This reveals one of the greatest inheritances we can pass on to our generation—the ministry of the Word.
God desires a generation that is rich in His Word, grounded in truth, and able to withstand the wiles of the enemy. One of the greatest battles believers face is the battle of faith, because faith is what activates dominion and enables us to stand victorious in every season.
However, victory in the battle of faith is determined by the quality and quantity of the Word a believer carries within. Faith is sustained when the eyes of our understanding are enlightened through continuous engagement with Scripture.
This is why daily study and meditation upon the Word are essential. Through the renewing of our minds, we are strengthened to trust God, obey His instructions, and follow Him wholeheartedly just as Enoch did, even in a corrupt generation.
Child of God, we are living in a world full of distractions, deception, and pressures that constantly seek to shift our faith away from God. If a believer is not deeply rooted in the Word, circumstances and challenges can easily derail their walk with God.
But when you are rich in the Word of God, you gain the capacity to rise above the issues of life, resist the traps of the enemy, and remain steadfast in faith regardless of opposition.
Therefore, do not only seek to know the Word for yourself—pass it on to the next generation. Raise children, families, and communities that are founded upon Scripture so that they may remain strong in faith and unwavering in their walk with God.
We shall continue next Sunday by God’s grace.
