Good evening, brethren. I was unable to post Friday evening, Saturday morning/evening, and Sunday morning Devotionals because I was in a village with no network. Sorry for that!
1. Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
SUNDAY 24TH MAY, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
RESPONSE TO GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
ABSOLUTE TRUST IN GOD.
*TEXT:*
JEREMIAH 17:7-8.
7 But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. Psa 2:12 Psa 34:8 Pro 16:20 Isa 30:18 [Psa 118:8] [Rom 9:33] [2Co 1:9]
8 He is like a tree planted by the waters that sends out its roots toward the stream. It does not fear when the heat comes, and its leaves are always green. It does not worry in a year of drought, nor does it cease to produce fruit. Psa 1:3 [Mat 7:24]
*TOPIC:*
ABSOLUTE TRUST IN GOD.
*THE MESSAGE:*
The Psalmist eulogises that the one who delight in the law of the Lord is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season (Ps. 1:2-3). Jeremiah adjudges that happy is the man who trusts in the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water and does not fear heat or drought. Rather its leaves remain green and never cease to bear fruit. This implies that no matter the hardships, challenges and hostilities in this life, absolute trust in the Lord gives victory. Economic hardships, unemployment, insecurity and persecution are prevalent. Yet, those who trust in the Lord will prosper. But those who rely on human strength will wither.
In whom do you take confidence?
Help and support from friends and relations is good. But absolute trust in God is better. Do not give up!
*REFLECTION:*
God is dependable, so trust Him completely!
*PRAYER:*
My Lord, I place my confidence in You. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
TITUS 2:12.
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.

Moment by moment I’m kept in His love
Moment by moment I’ve life from above
Looking to Jesus, ’til glory doth shine
Moment by moment O Lord I am Thine
Treasured Words
Oh how we just love those dear, old-favourite hymns and sweet cherished choruses. How often we bemoan their passing in preference to today’s repetitive religious score. But are our hearts really enwrapped with the deeper meaning of their words? Are we truly looking to Jesus moment by moment and kept in His love? Do we earnestly long for the One that is couched within these treasured words? Or is it just a darling memory of bygone classics for which we yearn so deeply? Are we simply seeking the ‘letter’ of the hymn or yearning for the ‘spirit’ of the music?
True Worship
The Lord warned of the dangers of substituting the letter of the Law for its spirit.. Is this not the case, as we exchange true worship of Him for emotional fervor? Are we truly and honestly kept in His love – moment by precious moment, day by day? Can we honestly examine our lives today and confess this to be our deepest desire?
Where is Jesus
Let us reflect on yesterday’s busyness. Let us consider this mornings activities. Let us examine the desires of our own heart. Let us investigate the truth of our own little lives. Where is Jesus in all our engagements – and in the midst our mundane activities? Where is He in the trivial toil of today – and the daily routines of life? Where is He in all our intercourse with family, friends and colleagues alike? How long have we trusted the Lord – 1 year – 5? 10? 20? 30 ? 50 years or more? His desire is that moment by moment we are kept in His love – alone.
Living Example
Mary sat at His feet while His disciples squabbled about their petty position, Mary worshiped while the rest evaluated the price of her anointing ointment. Is it the Word made flesh for Whom we yearn or are we simply saying pretty words? Is it the One Who is the subject of the worship songs we sing for Whom me are craving? Is it Jesus we desire – or do we just enjoy the emotional thrill that sweeps over us?
Word of Life
Surely it is the Word made flesh that should be the thing that moves us. Should not the words of our worship focus on the Word of Life. Should not these simple hymns of truth be applied in every moment of life? Should He not have access into every nook and cranny; corner and crevice of life?
Personal Reflections
Are we truly and in all honesty moment by moment kept in His love? Is it Jesus Who influences our thoughts, every waking moment? Are we fully surrendered to His will and guided by His Spirit? Do we allow Him into each decision of life – each conversation – each activity? Are we sensitive to His voice; obedient to His leading; pliable to His moulding? Do we respond to the Lord as a violin responds to the master’s hand on its bow? Are we lost in His love moment by moment? I wonder:
Old Hymn
Let us read through the following words and seek to apply the words of this old hymn in our lives.
Moment by moment I’m kept in His love;
Moment by moment I’ve life from above;
Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine;
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.
Dying with Jesus, by death reckoned mine;
Living with Jesus, a new life divine;
Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine,
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.
Never a trial that He is not there,
Never a burden that He doth not bear,
Never a sorrow that He doth not share,
Moment by moment, I’m under His care.
Never a heartache, and never a groan,
Never a teardrop and never a moan;
Never a danger but there on the throne,
Moment by moment He thinks of His own.
Never a weakness that He doth not feel,
Never a sickness that He cannot heal;
Moment by moment, in woe or in weal,
Jesus my Saviour, abides with me still.
Moment by moment I’m kept in His love;
Moment by moment I’ve life from above;
Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine;
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.

2. Evening Prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
A Psalm of David. The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. ⏤ Psalm 23:1-3
God loves importunate prayer so much that He will not give us much blessing without it. ⏤ Adoniram Judson
O Lord, You are our Shepherd; we will lack nothing. You make us lie down in green pastures and lead us beside still waters. You have been our Shepherd today. We have been in Your pastures as we have read Your word and worshiped with Your people.
We bow at Your throne with grateful hearts at the close of this day. We gather up the precious fragments of this day to carry with us, to feed upon in the days ahead. You have kept our feet from stumbling, our eyes from tears, and our souls from death.
We have walked with Jesus, and our hearts have burned within us as He talked with us along the way.
We ask You to fix deep in our hearts all the good impressions, lessons learned, and influences that have touched our lives today. Too often, we make sincere resolves and promises while our hearts are warmed with love, only to forget them tomorrow. Fix this Sunday's teachings so deeply in our minds that we never lose them. May we be stronger in faith, more earnest in purpose, and more holy in thought and feeling because of our communion with You this day.
Ever-living God, who neither slumbers nor sleeps—take charge of our bodies and souls during the dark hours of the night. Give us refreshing rest and sleep. Let tomorrow be sweet and holy, made so by the blessings of Sunday flowing into it. May we carry the fragrance of this day into the world’s life. And to Him who is able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God, our Savior, be glory forever and ever. Amen.
