Prayer Ministry-3
Syllabus-13
"A great deal of incense was given to him, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne." Revelation 8:3.
We can clearly see from the above verse that the prayers of the saints do not ascend to heaven, but come before the throne of God. This vision was revealed to John. An angel came and stood at the altar. He had a golden censer in his hand. Much incense was given to him that he should take it and add it to the prayers of the saints before the altar. And the smoke of the incense ascended before God with the prayers of the saints. Prayer is compared to incense. Rev. 8:3-4.
In Revelation 5:8, John saw four living creatures and twenty-four elders fall down before the Lamb, each holding a harp and golden bowls full of fragrant incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
In the Old Testament, we find that in front of the Ark of the Covenant there was a separate altar for burning incense. There Aaron the High Priest burned incense every morning and evening. Exodus 30:6-8. The Ark of the Covenant was a symbol of God. There He appeared to the people. That incense is the prayers of the saints. So our prayers come before God in the form of the smoke of sweet incense. King David knew this truth. He said, โLet my prayer be set before you as sweet incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.โ Psalm 141:2. The Grapes in the Vine
When a devotee offers his passionate prayers to God, how much joy He feels. If we continue to pray patiently, He will surely give us the results in due time.
"Then the Levitical priests rose up and blessed the people, and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, to heaven." 2 Chronicles 30:27
