DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 145
DATE: 25TH MAY 2026
TOPIC: GUARD YOUR HEART FROM COMPARISON
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: PSALM 73:17 (ERV)
“Then I went into God’s sanctuary, and I understood what will happen to them.”
Devotional Message:

The psalmist openly admits that he became troubled, upset, and even angry when he compared his life with the prosperity and success of the wicked. As he observed people who did not fear God seemingly flourishing while he struggled, his heart became overwhelmed and discouraged.

This is a reality many believers face today.Comparison has become one of the greatest weapons the enemy uses to rob believers of peace, joy, gratitude, and contentment. When people continually compare their lives, progress, finances, marriages, ministries, careers, or achievements with others, they become vulnerable to discouragement, bitterness, frustration, and compromise.

Some begin questioning God. Others break their integrity and values in pursuit of quick success because they feel left behind. Some even become spiritually oppressed because comparison shifts their focus away from God and onto people.

Yet the turning point for the psalmist came when he entered the presence of God.In God’s sanctuary, his perspective changed. He realized that while worldly success may appear attractive temporarily, true security, peace, guidance, and eternal hope are found in God alone. He also recognized how faithfully God had held his hand, guided him, and prepared a glorious future for him.

Beloved, comparison blinds people from appreciating what God is already doing in their lives. Every believer has a unique journey, timing, assignment, and process designed by God. When we compare ourselves constantly with others, we become distracted from our own purpose and vulnerable to the enemy’s lies.

The solution is not to focus more on people but to return to God’s presence and His Word. When we spend time with God: Our minds become renewed, joy is restored, perspective becomes clear, Gratitude fills our hearts, We regain peace and direction.

Instead of gazing continually at the world, believers are called to fix their eyes upon God and His promises.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, forgive me for every moment I have allowed comparison, jealousy, discouragement, or complaining to fill my heart. Help me to keep my eyes fixed upon You and not upon the world. Renew my mind, restore my joy, and teach me to trust Your timing and purpose for my life. Help me to remain faithful, content, and grateful as I walk with You daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
