* DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 147*
*DATE: 27TH MAY 2026*
*TOPIC: THE POWER OF PATIENCE*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:— 1 SAMUEL 13:14 (NKJV)*
*“But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart…”*
Devotional Message:
Patience is one of the greatest virtues every believer must develop if they are to fulfill destiny, walk successfully with God, and build lasting impact across generations.
From our anchor scripture, we see how impatience cost King Saul greatly. God had intended to establish his kingdom, yet because Saul could not wait for Samuel to arrive and offer sacrifice unto the Lord, he acted outside divine instruction. His impatience became the doorway to disobedience, and as a result, the kingdom was eventually taken from him.
Impatience often pushes men ahead of God’s timing.
Whenever believers move before God speaks, directs, or permits, they expose themselves to unnecessary struggles, losses, and regrets. Saul teaches us that delay does not mean denial. Sometimes God allows waiting seasons to test obedience, trust, endurance, and dependence upon Him.
Throughout Scripture, every man and woman whom God used greatly passed through seasons of waiting and process:Abraham waited for the promise.Joseph waited through betrayal and prison.David waited before becoming king.Moses spent years in the wilderness.Jesus Himself waited before entering public ministry
Greatness with God is never built overnight.
It takes patience to:Build a lasting ministry,Establish a sustainable business,Build a godly marriage,Raise a strong family,Develop spiritual maturity,Grow in character and wisdom and Walk consistently with God.
Even spiritual growth itself is a process. The flesh is not subdued in a single day. Maturity does not happen instantly. Day by day, through obedience, prayer, discipline, trials, correction, and dependence upon God, believers are transformed into the image of Christ.
Many people destroy what God intended to bless simply because they could not wait through the process.
Yet those who trust God during seasons of silence, delay, testing, and uncertainty eventually witness His faithfulness. Patience keeps believers aligned with God’s timing and instructions, knowing that human wisdom is limited but God’s ways lead to everlasting life.
Do not despise the process or grow weary while waiting upon the Lord.Patience produces endurance, maturity, wisdom, and stability. Every lasting impact requires process, endurance, and trust in God.
For what God builds through patience endures through generations.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, teach me to trust Your timing and not move ahead of Your instructions. Help me to remain patient during seasons of waiting, silence, and process. Build within me endurance, maturity, obedience, and steadfast faith. Deliver me from impatience and self-dependence, and help me to walk fully according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
