Ministry of Prayer-

Syllabus-15

"Pray at all times in the Spirit with all prayer and supplication." Ephesians 6:18

In Ephesians 6, Paul lists prayer among the spiritual armor he gives. So it can be seen that it is a powerful weapon. There are many weapons that are defensive, such as the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, etc. There are also many weapons that are offensive, such as the shoes of the gospel, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit, etc. Prayer is both defensive and offensive. Jesus told the disciples, “Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation” (Matthew 26:41). Here prayer is defensive. But when Elijah prayed and the rain stopped for three and a half years, prayer was offensive. 1 Kings 17:1. Therefore, prayer is essential in the Christian life. Without it, there can be no spiritual warfare. All other weapons can be sharpened on the stone of prayer. The point to note here is that Paul says, pray at all times in the Spirit with all prayer and supplication. So there are different kinds of prayer. All of them must be used. We must pray with all the strength we need, we must offer up prayers of supplication. We must also pray with outcry. We must also pray with triumphant faith, we must also give thanks and praise to God. We must also spend time in His presence, even when we enter the inner room. Here we are talking about praying at all times. That is, we must always keep our thoughts and attention on the Lord.

"My prayer is like sweet incense before you, the spreading out of my hands in the evening."

"Let it be decorated as a gift." Psalm 141:2
