Good morning, brethren.
1. Morning devotion for today.

MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY MAY 28, 2026.
"THE FINGER OF GOD(2)"

'The magicians said to Pharaoh, 'This is the finger of God." Exodus 8:19 NIV

THE FINGER of God in calamity. When God sent plagues that Pharaoh’s wizards couldn’t duplicate, they cried out in fear, ‘This is the finger of God.’ Finally Pharaoh got the message: ‘Maybe God’s trying to tell me something.’ The calamity that befell Egypt was a direct result of Pharaoh defying God. Ten times Moses stood before him with God’s Word, saying, ‘Let my people go.’ Notice, God was only asking for what was rightfully His. The question is: What is He asking of you? Only when you say yes to God, will things begin to go right for you! When you see His purpose in the reversals and setbacks you’re going through, you can actually turn them into stepping stones to blessing. The Psalmist wrote, ‘Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary’ (Psalms 77:13 NKJV). Then he added, ‘Thy way is in the sea, and Thy path in the great waters…’ (Psalms 77:19 KJV). The sanctuary or the storm! God will bring you the easy way or the hard way. If you refuse to listen to His voice in the sanctuary, He will speak to you in life’s storms. Pharaoh rebelled against the providential dealings of God and it cost him his kingdom and his life. Don’t miss the lesson here. God wants what belongs to Him, what He bought and paid for at Calvary. He wants His rightful place in your life, which is first place. And you have an option: you can rebel against Him or respond to His love. If you feel God tugging at your heart today, it’s because He wants to save you, use you and bless you. If you’re wise you’ll say yes to Him.

MD.ii. JIHAD, THE HOLY WAR

"That woman's son (Ishmael) will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac." - Genesis 21:10

Jerusalem has always been and will always be a huge war arena. Jerusalem is still an important city today. The city that will be fought for during the final war. This war is mainly about the authority over the city. The wicked wants to have Jerusalem and will do everything to get hold of the city of God. However, one thing is certain: Jerusalem is an everlasting inheritance for the Jewish people. And the evil one will never get her.

An everlasting inheritance

You can read in Genesis 17:7-8 that God says to Abraham: 'I will establish My covenant as an everlasting covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.' Everlasting includes today! Many centuries ago, God personally gave the land of Canaan to His friend Abraham for an everlasting possession. Today, only a small part of this land is in Israel's possession. There was no condition attached to God's promise though. It is an everlasting inheritance.

So, who has the right to Jerusalem?

Genesis 21:10 states that Sarah says to Abraham: 'That woman's son (Ishmael) will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac.' Ishmael was also Abraham's son and by God's command Abraham had to send him away. 'For Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted' (Genesis 21:12).

We have to understand the spiritual background behind this. From Isaac, the son of the promise, Jesus Christ was born. That is why the evil one hates the people of Israel. When it comes to that piece of land, when it comes to the people of Israel, God deals with Isaac and his descendants. God's Word is still valid today. People can break a covenant, but they cannot break the almighty God.

2. Morning Prayer for today.

MP.i. Morning Prayer

A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity! ⏤ Psalm 133:1

Prayer is the language of a man burdened with a sense of need. ⏤ E.M. Bounds

Our Heavenly Father, You have told us that You love us and care for us. We gather at our family altar again to embrace the assurance of Your love and care. We are Yours—not our own. You made us, and You redeemed us. Your marks are upon us—the marks of the Lord Jesus. We are confident in Your keeping, so we entrust our lives to Your care.

Help us to be good children. Let us not grieve You by our sins, unbelief, or by straying from the way of Your commandments. May we be:
Faithful in all our duties,
Diligent in all our tasks,
Constant in our devotion to You,
And helpful among Your children.

Please make our home increasingly happy and loving. Protect us from the quarrels and strife that ruin the sweetness of so many homes. Help us to live together as a family with patience and kindness. May we bear with one another’s faults and weaknesses, and not provoke each other with our words and actions. In this way, may we each contribute to the happiness of our home and the good and edification of one another.

Make our home a center of holy influences. May its light shine out to brighten other homes and make other lives safer, stronger, and truer. Help us to be:
Sweeteners of the world’s bitterness,
Comforters of its sorrow,
Strength for its weakness,
And life for its death.

We confess our sins before You. We look to You for protection and guidance. Walk with us throughout the day and keep us from stumbling. Bring us safely home at last. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
