Have you reached a decision? Our decisions shape our lives and future. Most of the time, we ourselves are to be blamed for the lives we have and experience. When we have chosen the wrong path or option, and it has cost us dearly or failed to deliver on our hopes, it brings us to a crossroads where we have to make a decision. This decision could make or break us, giving us peace everlasting or destructive bitterness. And yes, many times such a decision would call for confession or admission of our mistakes or failures, but would it free us from guilt and condemnation? Such a move is evident when we have to face the consequences of our wrong decisions. In Scripture (Luke 15:11-32), we read about a young man who demanded his future inheritance in advance so that he could go and enjoy his life, even long before his father would have passed away. The father, in love for his son, granted his desire, after which this son fell to temptation, and foolish wastage of his inheritance, where he lost everything, and during a terrible drought was forced to a degrading work of feeding pigs. While doing this, he had much time to contemplate his actions, thinking deeply and seriously about his behaviour or decisions. Most of it was done with impulsive and naïve motives without wisdom. Then a day arrived when he MADE A WISE DECISION. Verse 15 to 19 states as follows: At last he came to his senses and said, … I will get up and go to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against God and against you. I am no longer fit to be called your son; treat me as one of your hired workers. So he got up and started back to his father. In Matthew 5:25 we see how Jesus advises us to be quick to agree with our adversary. That implied that we should settle our “wrongs” quickly. Jesus urged His followers to settle matters face to face, sooner rather than later, before ever getting to a judicial settlement or judgment. The longer we wait to come to terms with an antagonist, the worse the outcome will be for us. The amazing result with the mentioned prodigal son was that in verse 20 we see the Father who sees him RETURNING IN HUMBLE SUBMISSION, EMBRACES HIM WITH LOVE, HAS ALREADY FORGIVEN HIS SON FOR HIS FAILURES AND MISTAKES when the son pleaded for grace and pardon. Praise God for who HE IS. As such, God our Heavenly Father is just waiting for us to accept His outstretched hand and experience His love in Christ who died for our mistake and, failures, and sins undeservedly. My dear brother and Sister, please accept the LOVE OF GOD THROUGH HIS SON JESUS CHRIST, as He is faithful and His Word is TRUE. Test it and see for yourself what you can lose. Should you have a need for prayer or need guidance in this re3gard please share it in the comments as we at SATM (Southern Africa Truckers Ministry) would gladly assist and pray with you in whatever need you may face.
