*🕊️ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 153* *DATE: 2ND JUNE 2026* *TOPIC: THE PATHWAY TO VICTORIOUS LIVING* *ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: PSALM 81:13–14 (ERV)* *"If only my people would listen to me! If only Israel would live the way I want! Then I would quickly defeat their enemies and turn my hand against their foes."* *Devotional message:* The psalmist delivers a powerful message from the Lord to Israel: if they had listened to Him and walked in His ways, their enemies would have been defeated. This reveals an important truth for every believer—obedience is the pathway to victorious living, while disobedience opens the door to defeat. Throughout Scripture, God consistently connects victory with obedience. In the Old Testament, He spoke through prophets, judges, and kings. Today, He speaks to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the living Word of God. Therefore, whenever we hear and obey God's Word, we position ourselves to experience His guidance, protection, and victory. The Apostle James reminds believers not to be hearers of the Word only but doers also. The blessing is not merely in hearing God's instructions but in putting them into practice. Obedience demonstrates our trust in God and our willingness to submit to His authority. A clear example is found in the days of Eli. The Israelites assumed that God's presence would guarantee victory even though they were living in disobedience. When they went to battle against the Philistines, they suffered a devastating defeat. Eli's two sons died, and the Ark of the Covenant was captured. Their defeat was not due to God's lack of power but because they had departed from His ways. The same principle applies to believers today. Many desire victory in their spiritual lives, families, careers, ministries, businesses, and relationships, yet victory is sustained through obedience to God's Word. When we choose holiness over compromise, humility over pride, and submission over rebellion, we walk in the path that God has ordained for triumph. The Holy Spirit continually leads us into truth and righteousness. As we follow His leading and align our lives with Scripture, we experience the benefits of God's wisdom, favor, and protection. On the other hand, stubbornness, pride, rebellion, and persistent sin often lead to unnecessary struggles and defeat. Child of God, God's instructions are not meant to restrict you; they are given because He loves you and desires the very best for your life. Choose today to listen to His voice, obey His Word, and walk in His ways. Therein lies the secret to victorious living. Victory is not merely won through effort or ability; it is sustained through obedience to God's Word and submission to His will. *Prayer:* Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that guides me into the path of life. Help me to be attentive to Your voice and obedient to Your instructions. Deliver me from pride, rebellion, and every form of disobedience. Empower me by Your Spirit to walk in holiness and submission to You. May my life reflect Your will, and may I experience the victory that comes through obedience.
