DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 155
DATE: 4TH JUNE 2026
TOPIC: TRUSTING GOD'S TIMING
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: ECCLESIASTES 3:11 (NKJV)
"HE HAS MADE EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL IN ITS TIME."
Devotional message:

One of the purposes of God's refining process is to align us with His timing. While many desire promotion, influence, and impact, God is often more concerned with preparation than position. He understands that lasting influence requires sufficient character, wisdom, and capacity to sustain it.

David's life beautifully illustrates this principle. Although he was anointed by Samuel to be king over Israel, he did not immediately ascend to the throne. Instead, he entered a season of preparation. He spent years in the wilderness, in caves, and in difficult circumstances where God was shaping his character and teaching him dependence upon Him.

David never pursued power through human effort. Though King Saul relentlessly pursued him and sought to kill him, David refused to take matters into his own hands. On multiple occasions, he had opportunities to harm Saul, yet he chose to honor God's timing rather than force his own promotion. He understood that the throne obtained through God's timing would be far more secure than one gained through human ambition.

During his wilderness season, David was not idle. While God was preparing him, he was also helping to build and strengthen others. The men who gathered around him in the cave of Adullam later became mighty warriors and leaders. His season of preparation was not wasted; it was a season of growth, development, and capacity building.

What is even more remarkable is that God's dealings transformed David's heart. He did not rejoice at the death of Saul or his enemies. Instead, he mourned their loss. His heart had become aligned with God's heart. The refining process had produced humility, compassion, wisdom, and maturity.

Eventually, God's appointed time arrived. David first reigned over Judah and later over all Israel. The promotion that God had promised finally manifested, but only after the preparation had been completed. Because he had allowed God to fully prepare him, he was able to steward the responsibility entrusted to him and leave a lasting impact on his generation.

The same principle applies to us today. Many times we pray for open doors, greater influence, larger ministries, successful businesses, and greater opportunities. Yet God often responds by taking us through a process of preparation. He develops our character, increases our knowledge, strengthens our faith, and expands our capacity so that when the blessing arrives, we are able to sustain it.

Child of God, do not despise the season of preparation. Do not become frustrated when things seem delayed. God is not withholding His promises; He is preparing you for them. As you yield to His dealings and trust His timing, He will make everything beautiful in its appointed season.

God's preparation is as important as His promise. When we submit to His process and trust His timing, He equips us to carry and sustain the blessings He has prepared for us.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect timing. Help me to trust You when I do not understand the process. Deliver me from impatience and teach me to embrace every season of preparation. Develop in me the character, wisdom, and capacity needed for the assignments You have prepared for my life. May I never run ahead of Your timing but remain faithful until Your purposes are fulfilled. In Jesus' name, Amen.
