Good morning, brethren.

THE WORD FOR TODAY. FRIDAY JUNE 5, 2026.
"WE MUST BE CHRIST -CENTERED!"
'You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power.’ Revelation 4:11 NJKV
IN THE BOOK of Revelation, Christ stands knocking on the door of the last of the seven churches, asking them to let Him in. Amazing! Did the people inside not miss Him? Here’s a frightening thought: it’s possible to build a large institution, call it a church, and for Jesus to be marginalised in its emphasis and activities. The measure of a ministry is how it treats Christ. Even in emphasising the importance of Spirit-filled living, we can produce believers who are Spirit-filled but not Jesus-thrilled! We can reduce Christianity to principles that work as effectively in the secular marketplace as they do in the church. John the Revelator saw Christ sitting upon a throne. Next he heard the voices of a multitude singing, ‘…Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honour and glory and blessing!’ (Revelation 5:12 NKJV). And it was a mixed multitude. ‘Every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: ‘Blessing and honour and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, forever and ever!’’ (Revelation 4:13 NKJV). London once had two great preachers. When a lady went to hear the first, Dr Joseph Parker, she left saying, ‘What a preacher!’ When she went to hear the second, Charles Spurgeon, she left saying ‘What a Christ!’ Do you love the Lord supremely? If you died and they exhumed your body, would they find His name written on your heart?

MD.ii. THE JOY OF GIVING
"I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing." - Genesis 12:2
One of the greatest challenges for God's children, for the true Christian, is to truly live in joy and happiness and to resist the temptation of a selfish, ego-centric life. God wants to bless His children, because He is a good God. As every good father and mother want their children to be happy, God, our heavenly Father, wants His children to have life in abundance.
The key to every blessing is that we have to resist the temptation to only think about ourselves and instead of this become a giver. Today's generation says: 'What is in there for me? How do I benefit from this? I do this for you, but what will you do for me?' The danger for God's children is to also think like this. Nowadays people are no longer ashamed to openly live selfishly and to not show any interest in their fellow man.
Jesus already predicted in Matthew 24:12 that the love of most will grow cold. There are rich people who have everything and yet they have no satisfaction in life. No matter how much a person collects and works for, he or she does not have peace and will always want more.
True happiness
However, if you really want to be happy and experience God's joy and happiness in your life, then you will have to change and focus your thoughts on others. You will have to learn how to become someone who gives instead of someone who takes! We should show God's love to our community. We are created to be givers, to think: 'What can I do for someone else? What can I do for my church? What can I do for my country?'
God said to Abram: 'Abram, if you bless others, I will bless you.' If you are not happy today, reconsider where your eyes and mind are fixed on. Discover the joy of giving!

MP.i. Morning Prayer
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly. ⏤ John 10:10
The greatest thing anyone can do for God or man is pray. ⏤ S.D. Gordon
O Jesus, our Savior, You alone can give us life. You came into this world that we might have life, abundant life. Fill us with life as we begin this new day. We will need it at every step. We will have . . .
Burdens to carry,
Battles to fight,
Trials to endure,
Duties to perform.
Give us life, abundant life, to prepare us for all these experiences, that we do not fail today.
We must represent You in the world. You have said that as the Father sent You into the world, so You have sent us. We can do nothing except as we receive life and wisdom from You. We wait at Your feet this morning, praying that You put rich grace into our souls. May we be like trees planted by the rivers of water, bearing fruit in their season. May the fruits of righteousness be evident in our lives. May the fruits of the Spirit abound in us. May we be to the world like rich trees, planted and nourished by You, from whose branches there shall fall much fruit to feed the hunger of others.
We cannot know what the day will bring. We do not ask to know. We would rather walk in the dark with You than go alone, choosing our own way. We would rather walk with You by faith than go alone by sight. So, we put ourselves into Your hand for guidance and safekeeping. You will make no mistake in leading us. No path into which You take us can be the wrong path. Lead us, O Jesus, for You know the way through this bewildering world. You have walked these paths Yourself, O Jesus, and You found the way home. Lead us home, too, dear Master, to be with You forever. We ask in Your name. Amen.
