Exodus 23:2 NIV. For almost everything written in the Bible, there are principles and practices. But when it comes to spiritual matters, both are applicable, but the principles, more than the practices. You should be very careful of the crowd, as their yearnings and aspirations are more often than not contrary to the demands of Heaven upon your life, and often vitiates from the Truth. The LORD Jesus, who is the Truth personified, would often leave the crowd behind, because He knows them well. The crowd of the LORD Jesus' days are what one would call members of a 'rent-a-crowd' today. Anyone with the right price can access their services, whether good or bad. The same crowd that hailed Him during His Triumphant entry into Jerusalem was the same that called for His crucifixion just a few days apart. You don't want to be a part of that kind of assemblage. Strive to always uphold justice and righteousness, even when it's costly and unpopular, and you have to stand alone.
