Good evening, brethren.
1.Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
SATURDAY 6TH JUNE, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
EXAMPLES OF GOD'S AMAZING GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
THE THIEF ON THE CROSS.
*TEXT:*
LUKE 23:39-43.
39. One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at Him: “Aren’t You the Messiah? Save Yourself and us!”
40. But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence?
41. We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this Man has done nothing wrong.”
42. Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom. ”
43. Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in paradise.”
*TOPIC:*
THE THIEF ON THE CROSS.
*THE MESSAGE:*
The story of the thief on the cross is one of the most fascinating stories of Grace in the Bible. Our reading tells the story of two thieves being executed. One was callous and hurled insults at Jesus, who was also hanging on the cross. However, his partner in crime reprimanded him because he feared God. Aware of his sinfulness and inability to save himself, he asked Jesus for mercy. Jesus responded, 'Truly I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.' What a glorious ending for the thief! This story serves as an encouragement to us not to lose hope in anyone, regardless of the situation. Even on a dying bed, we must continue to plead for mercy for our lives and even for unbelievers. Hope is not lost as long as there is life.
*REFLECTION:*
Grace can reach you in any situation.
*PRAYER:*
Lord, save me in my present condition. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
JOHN 1:16.
"From the fulness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another."
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*

Until we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:13
Purposeful Day
We are living in exciting times for we are moving closer to the return of the Lord. We are living in the closing days of the church and each day is a purposeful day. We may desire to go to be with the Lord in heaven and long for His appearance.. and there can be no greater desire than to be with the Lord – forever.
United in Him
But while there is still breath in our mortal bodies we have a job to do. We must recognise that there is a purpose to be fulfilled each day of our lives. God is bringing each one of His children into a blessed unity of trust in Him. Each having a united confidence in the Lord. Each holding to pure scriptural truth. Just as the Lord purposed that Jew and gentile were to be one in Him – in like manner the whole Body of Christ is to be united in Him.
Glorious Purpose
Unity of the saints is a foundational creed emanating from Christ’s priestly prayer:- that they may be one as We are One, I in them and You in Me— so that they may be brought to complete unity. John 17:22 And this unity is for a glorious purpose:- then the world will know that You sent me and have loved them even as You have loved Me John 17:23
Love As He Loved
The Lord Jesus wants each of His children to be united in love – united in Him.. until we all come to the knowledge of the Son of God. For God is love and love is of God and we are to be one in Him – united in Him. We are to love as Jesus loved us – to love others as His love flows through us.
Christian Maturity
We are not only to know the Lord with our minds but in the depth of our being. We are to trust Him in spirit and truth; in word and in deed; in time and into eternity.. for faith is a spiritual knowledge of Christ, which progresses into maturity. As Son of God and Son of Man, He is the object of our faith – our expression of love. And the godly goal and pure purpose is… that we all are to come to a perfect man. Our Christian maturity is to be completed – and spiritual growth is to be entire.
Christ’s Fullness
The whole body of Christ is to be fully taught, sanctified in the likeness of Christ. We are each to be endued with a full measure of Christ in every area of life – and like Him we are to learn obedience through suffering. And the stunning result of this maturation process is God’s final goal for us all:- until we all come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
A Holy Temple
God has been building a holy temple of holy people, day by day for 2000 years.. a unique ‘new creation in Christ’ .. a singular people, set apart for God.. a peculiar people, distinct from the old creation in Adam, – a royal priesthood that has been battling the spiritual forces of evil for centuries.. Each day a step closer to the day when Christ returns to set up His kingdom, but while there is still breath in our mortal bodies we have a job to do,
Unity of the Faith
We are to grow in grace and in a knowledge of Him, until we all come to the unity of the faith.. and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
Perfect Man
Each day of our lives the Lord is doing a good work is each one of us.. Building us up into the body of Christ.. until that wonderful day..…when “we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of Christ, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of His fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:13
Christ In You
This perfecting of the body into the likeness of Christ is a godly mystery “Christ in you the hope of glory.” Col.1:27. But know this – that when we see Him we shall be like Him,.. for we shall see Him as He is.

2. Evening Prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom. ⏤ Psalm 90:12
The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. ⏤ Samuel Chadwick
Our Father, what shall we render unto You for all the mercies and kindnesses of this week received from Your hand? We have walked through these days with You, and You have kept us and blessed us. We have not always walked worthily. We have grieved You many times. We thank You for the mercy that never fails and for the forgiveness of our many transgressions.
May You use our week's work and bless it. We have met many people, some only for a moment, in passing, and some many times. Bless to each of them our passing words or our friendship. We have tried to be kind to those who were in need or trouble; may You bless all our giving, our visits to the sick or poor, and all our efforts to help others in any way. Forgive us for the times we failed to show love, when we passed by on the other side.
We remember this evening the many people around us in various conditions and circumstances. Some are Your children; let a blessing rest upon them. Make them more and more worthy, true-hearted, and whole-hearted Christians. Some are careless, drifting away from Jesus. Have mercy upon these, and save them from the perils of their course. Some are far from You, and do not know You. We ask You to send Your Spirit to convict them and bring them to repentance.
We remember . . .
The poor in their poverty,
The sick in their suffering and pain,
The sorrowing in their distress.
Let a blessing rest upon the little children for whom no prayer rises in their own homes. Turn the hearts of all prayerless parents to their children, that they may plead with You for them. Fold us now in Your almighty arms, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
