* DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 158*
*DATE: 7TH JUNE 2026*
*TOPIC: NEVER GROW WEARY IN DOING GOOD*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: GALATIANS 6:9 (NKJV)*
*"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."*
*Devotional message;*
The Word of God encourages believers never to become weary in doing good because every act of kindness, love, generosity, and obedience is a seed that will eventually produce a harvest. While the results may not always be immediate, God assures us that in due season we shall reap if we remain faithful.
A beautiful example of this truth is found in the life of Jonathan and his son, Mephibosheth. After David became king, he sought someone from Saul's household to whom he could show kindness for Jonathan's sake. Jonathan had been a faithful friend to David, demonstrating loyalty, love, and selflessness during David's difficult seasons.
Years later, David remembered that covenant of kindness and sought out Mephibosheth, Jonathan's son. Mephibosheth was lame in both feet, having been injured as a child when his nurse fled with him during a time of crisis. Humanly speaking, many may have considered his story finished. He was living in obscurity, carrying the limitations of his condition and seemingly forgotten by society.
Yet one day everything changed.
Because of the kindness Jonathan had shown David, Mephibosheth was brought before the king. David restored to him all the land that had belonged to his grandfather Saul and assigned servants to work for him. Not only that, but Mephibosheth was given a permanent place at the king's table, where he ate as one of the king's own sons.
This account reminds us that the seeds we sow often extend far beyond our own lives. Jonathan may not have lived to see the harvest of his kindness, but his son became a beneficiary of what he had sown years earlier. The goodness he showed continued speaking even after his death.
The same principle applies to us today. Every prayer offered for another person, every soul led to Christ, every act of generosity, every word of encouragement, every sacrifice made for God's kingdom, and every moment spent helping others is a seed planted in the soil of eternity. God never forgets such seeds.
Sometimes the harvest comes directly to us. At other times, it extends to our children and future generations. Just as good seeds produce a good harvest, negative seeds also produce corresponding results. Therefore, we must be intentional about sowing seeds of love, kindness, faithfulness, mercy, and righteousness.
Child of God, do not become discouraged when your acts of goodness seem unnoticed or unappreciated. Heaven keeps an accurate record. God sees every sacrifice, every prayer, every gift, and every act of service done in His name. In His appointed time, the harvest will surely come.
Continue helping others. Continue praying for people. Continue sharing the Gospel. Continue encouraging the discouraged. Continue standing with those in need. Your labor is not in vain, and the seeds you are sowing today may become the blessings that future generations will enjoy tomorrow.
Every act of goodness is a seed. If we remain faithful and do not lose heart, God will ensure that a harvest comes in His appointed season.
*Prayer:*
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that every good seed sown in Your name is valuable in Your sight. Help me not to grow weary in doing good, even when I do not see immediate results. Give me a faithful and generous heart that continues to serve others with love and humility. May the seeds I sow today bring glory to Your name and become blessings to future generations. In Jesus' name, Amen.
