Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.

ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
SUNDAY 7TH JUNE, 2026

*SUB-THEME:*
EXAMPLES OF GOD'S AMAZING GRACE.

*TOPIC:*
ESTHER

*TEXT:*
ESTHER 2:17-18
17. Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
18. And the king gave a great banquet, Esther’s banquet, for all his nobles and officials. He proclaimed a holiday throughout the provinces and distributed gifts with royal liberality.

*TOPIC:*
ESTHER

*THE MESSAGE:*
Esther was an orphan and a captive who was brought to the place by her cousin, Mordecai, to participate in a beauty contest. God's Grace was in full manifestation in her life up to the time she influenced the preservance of her kith and kin. In our reading, she won the admiration of all who saw her, and the King was attracted to her more than all the other virgins and crowned her queen to replace Vashti. God took Esther from obscurity to prominence. God was in the details of Esther's life. It is He who lifts people (Ps. 75:6-7). In the same way, God has a plan for you, and no one can thwart it. Whatever you might be going through, God will bring the good out of it. Just trust Him.

*REFLECTION:*
God has a good plan for you.

*PRAYER:*
I anticipate Your uplifting, Lord. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
JOHN 1:16.
"From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another."

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
PSALM 37-39.

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.
2 Peter 3:11

God’s Plan

The earth was cursed when man sinned and one day it will be destroyed by fire. One day everything in this world will be burned-up, consumed, destroyed – gone. One day there will be a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness reigns. One day, at the end of Christ’s millennial rule all will be laid before the Father – and today, God’s plans and purpose are working towards that end.

Holy Conduct

But in the light of this sobering thought, Peter asks a very serious question: He asks each of us to carefully consider what kind of people we should be. He asks us to reflect on how we should live in the knowledge of this truth. He advises that we examine and re-examine our hearts in the light of the end. He encourages holy conduct, a virtuous life – a people set apart in purity of heart. He desires that our conversation and inner thoughts reflect godly conversations.

Second Coming

Peter does not spend time giving peculiar details of specific end-time events, but warned us to recognise the approaching season of Christ’s soon return. He knows end-time believers have a greater need than such specific knowledge. He does not fascinate his hearers with exact details of Christ’s second coming.. but he does give one vital warning that we would be wise to consider.

Day of God

He details one final great conflagration – prior to the new heaven and earth.. where fervent heat explodes as both earth and heaven catch aflame – where heaven and earth are burned up and melt away. And in the light of this brief description, this elderly apostle asks each of us: what kind of people should we be and then proceeds to outline the answer: You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God.

Holiness to the Lord

We are to be examples of lives that are holy and characters that are godly. We are to consider our conduct today in the light of future events yet to happen. We are to prepare our hearts for the time when all earthly things will go. Peter’s emphasis, is on our own walk with the Lord Jesus. We should live holy lives- for holiness unto the Lord means sanctification – a transformation into the likeness of Christ through willing submission.

Set Apart

Fundamentally it signifies division; being set apart; a divorce from the world. It is a disassociation with the things of the world and the lusts of the flesh. It is a dis-affiliation from sin. It is a separation from these things unto God – Oh, we are in the world, but we are not to be of the world.

Myths About Holiness

Holiness does not mean unquestioning adherence to a denominational view. It is not linked to the canonization of saintly people, who died in the distant past. Sanctification is not achieved through zealous works, designed to please God, nor is it striving to be a good Christian or a great devotee of Christendom. These are the lies of the enemy that have permeated the religious world. These are myths that have tainted the belief system of many sincere hearts.

Be Holy

We should hold the things of this world lightly knowing they are all temporal. We ought to live holy and godly lives knowing that we have an eternal home.. and as we wait for Christ’s return we are to be holy as God is holy. Not through self-effort of self-striving but in submission to the Spirit, looking to Him each moment of the day, moment by moment walking in spirit and truth, as we wait for Jesus.

2. Evening Prayer for today.

EP.i. Evening Prayer

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⏤ Romans 5:8

The prayer of faith is a sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the heart or soul to God. ⏤ John Bunyan

O God of love, we offer You our heartfelt thanks for all Your mercies, but especially for Your unspeakable gift, Jesus Christ, Your Son, in whom all gifts and blessings are included. We thank You that You loved us in our sin, not waiting for us to come to You with our love to win Your love, but that You demonstrated Your love to us in that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us. We humbly adore this wonderful love, without which we would have perished forever in our sins.

O may our hearts respond to Your love. Our love is so small in comparison with Yours—so unworthy, so fickle, and uncertain, that we are ashamed to offer it to You. Have mercy upon us, O God, and grant us more of Your grace and of Your Holy Spirit, that our love may be deepened and strengthened.

May this Sunday be blessed to us. Fix in our hearts all the good things we have heard and learned. Sanctify to us all our worship, the instruction we have received, and the holy impressions made upon us. Accept what we have tried to do to help and bless others.

Bless us again as a family as we bow at Your feet. Give us many rich blessings out of Your grace. Bless our time together today. May our home friendships grow deeper and more tender. Teach us how to love each other better. Preserve us from those miserable little faults that mar the life of love in so many homes—criticism, impatience, discourtesy, thoughtlessness, lack of gentleness. May love abound in each heart, so that our home life may be sweet and full of blessing.

We come beneath the shadow of Your wings as we go to our rest. Keep us, enrich us with all goodness and mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
