Good morning, brethren.
1. Morning devotion for today.

MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. WEDNESDAY JUNE 10, 2026.
"SERVING REQUIRES OBEDIENCE"

'I desire to do your will my God.' Psalms 40:8 NIV.

IF YOU'RE upset over giving up your rights’ and ‘privileges’ to serve others, consider what Christ gave up to serve you. ‘…He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death…’ (Philippians 2:8 NKJV). When you’re tempted to remind others of the sacrifices you’ve made, hear Christ’s Words: ‘…When you have done all things which you are commanded, say, “We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do”’ (Luke 17:10 NKJV). Have you ever observed a dog that graduated from obedience school? It’s a source of pleasure to its master because it has learned to respond to a word, sometimes even a look. God says, ‘I will guide thee with Mine eye’ (Psalms 32:8). God wants to bring you to the place where you don’t have to be begged, badgered, or browbeaten to serve. One look from Him and you do it without question. As a servant you can’t change your master’s orders! Dr J R Miller said, ‘It is a great deal easier to do that which God gives us to do, no matter how hard it is, than to face the responsibilities of not doing it.’ God doesn’t want foot-dragging compliance, He wants willing obedience. And when He gets it, He blesses it. ‘If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land’ (Isaiah 1:19 NIV). God’s best is reserved for those who say yes. You ask, ‘How will I know when I arrive at that place?’ Because you’ll be able to say, ‘I desire to do Your will, O my God.’

MD.ii. DO NOT DOUBT

"If you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done." - Matthew 21:21

It was a difficult time, an hour of darkness, in the lives of the disciples and the women who had followed Jesus. He was their teacher and they saw how He healed the sick. They saw how He raised Lazarus from the dead and how He cast out seven evil spirits from Mary Magdalene. They had a silent hope that Jesus would establish a kingdom on earth, but their hope died when they saw Jesus hanging on the cross.

Peter felt miserable. After he denied Jesus three times, it was as if he continued to hear the rooster crows. Think of Judas, he was the most disappointed one as he thought he would become the minister of finance in the new kingdom.

One evening most of the disciples were together, they had closed the doors and were sad and scared. Thomas did not come. He did what so many people do when they are having a hard time; they stay at home and do not go to church meetings. They prefer to feel sorry for themselves.

Then Jesus came

But when all hope was gone... Jesus came. He suddenly stood in their midst while the doors were closed, and He said to them: 'Peace be with you! As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you. And with that He breathed on them and said: receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.' (John 20:21-23).

A week later He came and stood amongst them while Thomas was also there. He called Thomas who did not want to believe earlier that Jesus was alive. How happy was Thomas now that he saw Jesus alive! Are you happy and grateful? Or are you sad and disappointed? Did you lose hope and is your life chaotic? If that is the case, speak the word of faith.

2. Morning Prayer for today.

MP.i. Morning Prayer

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name. ⏤ Psalm 100:4

True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance. It is far deeper than that - it is spiritual transaction with the Creator of Heaven and Earth. ⏤ Charles Spurgeon

We come into Your presence, O God, this morning, with a song. We do not praise You as we ought or as You deserve. We come to You with our requests, our supplications, our pleadings—and then when our prayers are answered, we too often fail to thank You for the blessings we receive. We take Your gifts from the unseen hand and do not think of the Giver, from whom all our favors come. We get discouraged too easily when shadows creep over us or when fragments of cloud come into our sky, and our hearts fill with fear. We confess all this little faith and all this ingratitude, and we ask You for the grace of thankfulness, that we may suitably remember Your love. Having eyes, may we see Your love in all the manifold blessings that come to us in so many forms and ways.

Teach all of us how to sing praise to You. There are always countless reasons for praise. In the darkest day, there is far more light than darkness. Our troubles are always infinitesimally small in comparison with our mercies and blessings. Give us eyes to see the bright things, and hearts to number our comforts. Teach us not to mind the cares and worries but to sing through them all. Teach us to rejoice always, even though we are suffering or enduring discomfort.

We thank You for all the mercies we now enjoy. We thank You for the good things of Your providence, and the better things of Your grace—for home and friends, and health and books, and schools and churches, and all Your favors. Give us the spirit of praise. Help us to make this a day of rejoicing in Jesus Christ our Lord. And may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be on us forever. Amen.
