* DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 161*
*DATE: 10TH JUNE 2026*
*TOPIC: THE RESPONSIBILITY OF GREATER LIGHT*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Luke 12:48 (KJV)*
*"Unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required."*
*Devotional message:*
After King David received the word of the Lord through the prophet Nathan, he became angry at the injustice described in the parable and demanded that the guilty man be brought before him. However, when Nathan declared, โYou are the man,โ David was convicted of his sin. He humbled himself before God, repented sincerely, and sought the Lord's mercy.
God forgave David, yet forgiveness did not remove all the consequences of his actions. The child born from his sin died, demonstrating an important spiritual principle: while God's mercy is available to all who genuinely repent, certain actions may still carry consequences. Forgiveness restores our relationship with God, but it does not always exempt us from the results of our choices.
We see a similar example in the lives of Moses and Aaron. Though they were servants greatly loved by God, their act of disobedience at the waters of Meribah prevented them from entering the Promised Land. God forgave them, yet they still experienced the consequences of their actions.
These examples reveal that the greater the light, revelation, and responsibility entrusted to a believer, the greater the expectation for obedience. God holds His children accountable according to the measure of truth and understanding they have received. This is why Scripture teaches that to whom much is given, much is required.
As believers, this truth should lead us to humility and dependence upon God rather than self-confidence. We cannot obey God consistently through human effort alone. We need the help of the Holy Spirit daily. The psalmist understood this when he prayed, "Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk in Your truth."
This should be the continual prayer of every child of God. As we remain rooted in the Word of God and yielded to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, He empowers us to walk in obedience and live lives that honor Him.
Child of God, never take lightly the revelation God has given you. Walk carefully, remain teachable, and continually seek the grace to obey. The more light God gives, the greater the responsibility to walk according to that light.
*PRAYER:*
Heavenly Father, thank You for the light of Your Word and the revelation You have given me. Help me to walk worthy of the truth You have entrusted to me. Teach me Your ways and enable me by Your Spirit to live in obedience. Guard me from presumption and give me a humble and teachable heart. May my life bring honor and glory to Your Name. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
