Good morning, brethren.
1. Morning devotion for today.
MD.i. MORNING TEA.
THE WORD FOR TODAY FRIDAY JUNE 12, 2026.
"COOL THOUGHT FOR HOTHEADS (1)"
'...A hot-tempered person commits all kinds of sin.’ Proverbs 29:22 NLT
RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION is the capacity to get aroused when it matters. When you see people mistreated and don’t feel concerned, you’re either in denial or lacking compassion. God designed anger to move us to action. The Bible says, ‘…God is angry with the wicked every day’ (Psalms 7:11 NKJV); it motivates His actions against man’s wickedness. When Jesus saw His Father’s house being desecrated His anger drove Him to make a whip, overthrow the money tables and chase out the loan sharks. His ‘…Passion for God’s house [consumed Him]’ (John 2:17 NLT). He couldn’t remain passive or compromise. The world needs people who’ll take action when the weak and vulnerable are ‘used and abused’. Hot temper, however, isn’t the fruit of godly motivation. It’s driven by our lower nature. Like Balaam who got angry when he was challenged by the truth, our pride gets hurt (Numbers 22:29). Or like Cain, who was jealous because his brother’s gift was accepted and his wasn’t, we get resentful when someone else seems blessed more than us (Genesis 4:3-7). Like Haman, who was enraged that Mordecai wouldn’t bow before him, we selfishly desire to have our way (Esther 3:1-6). Like King Saul, who was envious over David’s popularity, we get jealous when someone else has accomplished more than us (1 Samuel 18:8). Like King Ahab, who was confronted with the truth he’d rather not hear, we refuse to face our sinful ways and failures (1 Kings 22:15-27). The Bible cautions us: ‘If you are angry, be sure it is not a sinful anger…don’t give the devil that sort of foothold’ (Ephesians 4:26-27 PHPS).

MD.ii. FAITH FOR TODAY
"I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in Me will never die. Do you believe this?" - John 11:25-26
In John 11 we read about Lazarus from Bethany and his sisters Maria and Martha. Lazarus was sick and there was no hope for him to get well. The sisters had sent a message to Jesus, who was a good friend of theirs, but Jesus stayed away for two more days and did not immediately respond to the message.
Faith for yesterday
When Jesus finally arrives, Lazarus already died. The first thing Martha says then is: 'if You had been here, my brother would not have died.' Do you know what this means? Martha had faith for yesterday when there was still hope and life. But now all her hope was gone.
Faith for the future
Jesus says then; 'Your brother will rise again' and Marta responds: 'I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.' This shows that Martha also had faith for the future. She had faith for yesterday; the past. She had faith for the future, but she didn't have faith for today. Jesus then says these wonderful words to Martha: 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in Me will never die. Do you believe this?'
Faith for today
Let's have faith for today! Believe that what He did yesterday and what He will do tomorrow, He can also do it today. No matter how big your problem is, no matter how dark it may look to you, think about what Jesus said. People are often sad, they feel miserable and see no way out because they forgot about the words of Jesus. Let us remind ourselves of His words. Get to know His Word. 'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever' (Hebrews 13:8).

2. Morning Prayer for today.
MP.i. Morning Prayer
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, ⏤ Ephesians 4:1
Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness. ⏤ Martin Luther
O Jesus, You have called us with a holy calling. We desire to be worthy of the honor You have bestowed upon us. You have redeemed us by Your blood. You have taken us into fellowship with Yourself. You are not ashamed to call us brethren. You have made us heirs of God, joint heirs with You. You have given us eternal life!
Make us indeed worthy of this exalted honor. Cleanse and purify us, that we may be like You in spirit, disposition, and character. Give us the same desires that are in Your heart, that we may hate what You hate and love what You love. May we be partakers in Your work for the upbuilding of Your cause and the extension of Your kingdom.
Give us this day the same mind that was in You. You left Your heavenly glory and became human, that You might be our Redeemer. You lived to serve, giving out Your life in unsparing service, even dying in love for Your people. We desire to have the same spirit. Save us from all selfishness, which would lead us to withhold ourselves from serving others with the best that is in us. Save us from all pride, which would lead us to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think, and may we always be clothed with humility. Lead us into Your ways of service.
Lord Jesus, help us to live this day as You would live if You were here in our place. May we be holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners. May we be kind in all our family relationships and with those outside. Help us to be diligent in all our business. May we live unspotted from the world. Bless us in all ways in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
