Luke 19:4-5, 7 NLT So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way. When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
Good morning and praise God. Let's pray. Almighty God we bow before your presence this morning on adoration, worship and thanksgiving. You've been good and gracious to us, our families, our work places and everywhere else. Glory be to your name. Today we desire you put on us a proactive hearts in us to seek you despite our challenges, our weakness or what others says about us. Jesus, do not pass is when you're visiting others. Come LORD into our home and be our guest. Grant us that transformation encounter with you. Amen.
Dear friends, Zacchaeus was a chief tax collector. He was despised by people and regarded by people of faith as a sinner. He would only dine with his fellow 'sinners' for people of faith didn't interact with 'sinners' like him. He collected tax but also practiced corruption just as the people of his career. Physically he was also a man of short stature. However, he once heard that Jesus was passing by and he ran, climbed a tree that he might see Jesus. I don't know how sinful you've been treated by people especially those of 'faith'. I remind you that there's no sinner that is beyond repair. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He have His only begotten Son that whoever believes on Jim shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus is not discriminational nor hateful, He is loving and Mighty Savior. Close your ears and eyes from people and seek Jesus. He will save you, restore you and graciously help you transform. God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom. Shalom.
