Caution in prayer-

Syllabus-25

"Therefore, see whether the light that is in you is darkness or not." Luke 11:35

Although the Lord Jesus spoke these words to the Pharisees, they are applicable to believers. Believers need to examine themselves.

Before praying powerfully, we need to examine ourselves to see if we are walking in the light according to God's Word. Maybe we were once in the light, but we are still maintaining that state in our lives, or if the works of darkness have filled our hearts, we need to examine ourselves again and again. Because we are flesh and blood people. We live in an environment of sin. It may not be possible for us to live a holy life continuously. That is why we need to examine ourselves all the time. If the Pharisees had examined themselves in this way, the work of God's Spirit in their lives would not have stopped and they would have recognized the Lord Jesus as the Messiah. For example, a righteous man named Simeon was in Jerusalem. He recognized the baby Jesus as the Messiah when he saw him. How did he recognize him? Because it is written, "The Holy Spirit was upon him." Luke 2:25. He did not grieve the Holy Spirit, but lived according to His leadings. Therefore, his heart could not be filled with darkness.

If we do not grieve the Holy Spirit, if we do not disobey His voice, then we too can be part of various divine revelations. Divine power and grace will descend into our lives. Our lives will be fruitful.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; Test me and know my thoughts; and see if there is any wicked way in me. whether available or not." Psalm 139: 23-24.
