Good morning, brethren.

"COOL THOUGHTS FOR HOT HEADS (3 )"
'...Be...slow to speak and slow to become angry.’ James 1:19 NIV
HERE'S HOW to control your anger: 1) think before you react. Our reactions are often based more on feelings than facts. Someone says or does something and we suddenly feel angry and assume they ‘made’ us feel that way. No, you made yourself angry by telling yourself, ‘Who do they think they are?’ ‘I don’t have to take that.’ ‘I’ll show them who’s in charge!’ Your self-talk triggered your anger. ‘Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.’ To break anger’s negative cycle, practise saying to yourself, ‘Stop!’ Then don’t react until you ask the person to clarify their words or actions. Say, ‘I want to understand. Please explain what you meant by…’ By stopping and listening to understand, you interrupt your anger build-up and gain self-control. 2) don’t ‘speak your mind’ when you’re angry. An old Irish poem says, ‘We’re constantly hearing O’Flannagan say, ”I gave him a piece of my mind.” And it isn’t surprising with so much gone, that so little remains behind!’ The Bible says, ‘…The tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do’ (James 3:5 TLB). You won’t find a receptive audience when you’re enraged; people will just resist or discount your accusations and get angry in response. ‘A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger’ (Proverbs 15:1 NIV). Take a breather and try a gentle response when you’re calm. 3) avoid angry people. Like a bad virus, they infect you, especially if you have a problem with anger. ‘Don't spend time with angry people; don't keep company with hotheads. Bad temper is contagious—don’t get infected’ (Proverbs 22:24-25 TM).

MD.ii. THINK ABOUT ME
"This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me… This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of Me." - 1 Corinthians 11:24-25
On that terrible night when Jesus was betrayed, He said to His disciples: 'I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer' (Luke 22:15). Jesus knew it was His Father's will for Him to suffer. Jesus knew He had to give His precious blood to reconcile God and mankind.
Like the Baptism, celebrating the 'Holy Supper' or having 'Holy Communion' is an institution given by God to the church of Jesus Christ, He commands us to maintain these! The Holy Supper is an institution with great power for those who understand and believe this when participating.
These two institutions, the Baptism and the Holy Supper, bear witness to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
When we celebrate the Holy Supper, we are reminded of Jesus Christ. Think about Him! The apostle Paul speaks in above Bible verse about one Person: Jesus of Nazareth, the great Physician, the Healer of broken hearts and the Prince of Peace, who gives peace in the heart. About Jesus, who is our strength, who became poor to make us rich. He, who meets all your needs and takes away your sin and guilt.
Nothing or nobody can do what Jesus did for us or be what Jesus is for us today. When we celebrate the Holy Supper, we think of the cross, we think of Jesus' death. Jesus said: 'Remember My death. Do this until I come back.' Simultaneously, think of the joy and glory that are reserved for us.

2. Morning Prayer for today.
MP.i. Morning Prayer
[A Psalm] of David. Blessed [be] the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, [and] my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and [he] in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. ⏤ Psalm 144:1-2
Prayer is the language of a man burdened with a sense of need. ⏤ E.M. Bounds
Blessed are You, O God, our strength, who teaches our hands to war and our fingers to fight. Teach us to war against all wickedness. You are our goodness and our fortress, our high tower, our deliverer, our shield, and the God in whom we trust. You are our refuge and strength, our keeper in the midst of trouble, and our deliverer.
Lord, what is man that You take knowledge of him? Man is like vanity; his days are as a shadow that passes away. Yet we rejoice in Your love and thought for Your redeemed children. Though we are so frail, like a flower, like the reed, bruised and broken—still You do indeed take account of us. You have put Your image upon us. You have put Your Spirit within us. You have made us Your own children. We are dearer to You than all other things in the universe because we are Your own children, and You are our Father, and because You have redeemed us at the price of the blood of Your own Son. In the person of Your Son, we are as dear to You as He is. Help us to realize our nearness and dearness to You.
We would rejoice as a family in Your goodness and grace. Rid us and deliver us from the hand of evil men, whose mouths speak vanity and whose right hands are right hands of falsehood. May our sons be as plants grown up in their youth. May our daughters be as cornerstones polished after the similitude of a palace. May our garners be full, that we may feed the hungry. May we all honor You by holy and beautiful lives.
Fill our home today with Your love, and may all of us receive from You grace, mercy, and truth, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
