Sunday, 14th June, 2026 TITLE: “Keep building, Don't Grow Weary.” ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S) Nehemiah 6:9 (KJV) “For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.” Hebrews 12:12 (KJV) “Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;” QUOTE TO REFLECT ON “Discouragement weakens the hands, but faith strengthens them to continue the work God has assigned.” DAY'S REFLECTION Every worthwhile assignment attracts opposition. Nehemiah discovered this while rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. His enemies could not stop the work directly, so they tried to discourage the workers. Their goal was simple: weaken their hands and cause the work to cease. The same strategy still operates today. Many people begin with enthusiasm but become discouraged when challenges arise. A teacher may become weary after repeated setbacks in the classroom. A business owner may feel discouraged after experiencing losses. A believer may become tired after praying for a long-awaited breakthrough without seeing immediate results. Nehemiah's response was powerful and simple: “O God, strengthen my hands.” Instead of focusing on the opposition, he turned to God for renewed strength. The writer of Hebrews gives a similar encouragement: “Lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees.” God does not want His children to remain defeated, discouraged, or exhausted. He calls us to rise again, trust Him again, and continue the work He has placed before us. When strength seems gone, God provides fresh strength. When hope appears dim, God renews vision. When discouragement knocks at the door, faith reminds us that God is not finished with our story. Today, refuse to surrender to weariness. Ask God to strengthen your hands again. The work is not over, and your assignment is not finished. Discouragement is often a weapon against progress. 2. God's strength is available for every assignment He gives. 3. Prayer is a powerful response to opposition. 4. Perseverance turns challenges into testimonies. 5. Renewed strength comes from waiting upon the Lord. EVERYDAY ACTION Pray for renewed strength today. Focus on your God-given assignment. Refuse negative and discouraging thoughts. Take one step forward in faith. PRAYER Heavenly Father, strengthen my hands and renew my spirit. Help me overcome discouragement and remain faithful to the work You have entrusted to me. In Jesus' name, Amen. DECLARATION My hands are strengthened by the Lord. I will not be discouraged.
