Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
SUNDAY 14TH JUNE, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
EXAMPLES OF GOD'S AMAZING GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
MARY MAGDALENE.
*TEXT* :
LUKE 8:1-2.
1 After this, Jesus traveled from one city and village to another, preaching and spreading the good news about God’s kingdom. The Twelve were with Him,
2 as well as some women who had been healed of evil spirits and illnesses: Mary, also called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out;
Mat 27:55-56 Mar 16:9 [Mat 27:55] [Mar 15:41] [Luk 23:55].
*TOPIC:*
MARY MAGDALENE.
*THE MESSAGE:*
The culture within which Jesus lived treated women as second-class citizens. However, Jesus had a different attitude towards them. He treated women with dignity as people of worth. Mary Magdalene was one of those to whom Jesus ministered and was freed from demonic bondage. She followed Jesus as He moved from place to place and supported His ministry as a sign of gratitude. Gratitude and servitude are borne out of a heart that has experienced such liberating Grace. Believers who have experienced the loving, tender arms of Jesus owe it a duty to use their resources to advance His kingdom.
Are you in bondage of any sort?
Cry out to Jesus, He can set you free.
*REFLECTION:*
You are valuable in God's sight.
*PRAYER:*
Father, deliver me from the bondage of sin. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
JOHN 1:16.
"From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another."
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
PSALM 73-74.
WD.ii. 14 th June 2026 ODB devotional.
Topic: Serving Side by Side
“Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work. Nehemiah 2:18
READ Nehemiah 2:17-18; 3:6-12
Message:
Serendipity Bookstore, a popular spot in Chelsea, Michigan, needed to expand. The owner found a building twice the size just a block away. She wanted to make the move quickly instead of closing the store for days and boxing up all the books. So she requested help from the community. More than three hundred people showed up! They stood shoulder to shoulder, forming a human conveyor belt, and passed the books from one person to the next, moving 9,100 books in just under two hours. The owner said, “[The bookstore] is really a part of the community, and [the people] have ownership.” They all enthusiastically worked side by side.
When Nehemiah, a Jew who was the trusted cupbearer to the Persian king, learned that the wall surrounding Jerusalem lay in shambles, he cried out for God’s guidance (Nehemiah 1:3-11). The Babylonians had destroyed the walls in 587 bc. After investigating, Nehemiah recruited help from the community. He said to the Jewish leaders, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins . . . . Come, let us rebuild the wall” (2:17). Chapter 3 describes how leaders and citizens alike willingly repaired the section of the wall that was right in front of each one. They worked side by side.
We too can impact our community by serving together under God’s direction and in His strength.

REFLECT & PRAY
What are your God-given abilities? How might He be calling you to work side by side with others?
Please open my eyes, dear God, to those around me so I might serve You in ways that help my community.
SCRIPTURE INSIGHT
Cooperation is on display in Nehemiah 3 as people with various gifts, talents, and callings stacked their hands to accomplish one good work. Among them were priests (vv. 1, 22, 28) and Levites (v. 17); goldsmiths, perfumers, and merchants (vv. 8, 31-32); rulers (vv. 12-19), and others. The wall-building project, like other worthwhile community endeavors, required good leadership, and Nehemiah provided that. A survey of his qualities reveals that he was a man of prayer (1:4; 2:4), vision (2:5, 11-16), good communication skills (2:7-8, 17-18), and courage (vv. 19-20). Today, we can also serve others by working together with God’s strength.

Evening Prayer for today.
MP.i. Evening Prayer
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. ⏤ Hebrews 4:9
Prayer is the ascent of the soul to God. ⏤ John Bunyan
Our heavenly Father, help us to draw near to You this evening. Our thoughts wander so easily that it is hard for us to bring them into a reverent attitude. Our lives gravitate earthward. The old nature in us is strong. The influences around us are worldly. When we would do good—evil is present with us. We cannot even pray without Your help. Help us, O God. Have mercy upon us, and draw us by Your Spirit to Yourself. Enable us to commune with You. Put into our hearts holy thoughts, and may we breathe them back to You in prayers. Fill us with Your love—and then we shall be loving as You are.
We beseech You, our Father, to make this Sunday truly a day of blessing and good in our lives. Our minds have been turned to holy things; may we be holier through all the week because of this. May our minds carry the sacred memories of the day, and may they be like sweet songs singing in us wherever we go. May invisible spiritual things be more real to us because of these Sunday hours. May the hold of the world upon us be loosened, and may its power over us be lessened through this day’s holy influences. So may abiding blessing be ours, as we leave another Sunday behind us, and may our lives attest to the reality of our union with You.
We thank You for the hope of the eternal rest of which this earthly day is a token and a pledge. Prepare us for that rest which remains for Your people. May the influence of this heavenly hope draw upon us mightily while we journey through this world. May its holiness keep us from sinning. May we get nearer in heart and life to You each day as we draw nearer each day to Your glory. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
