SACRIFICIAL GREATNESS

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ." Philippians 3:8 NKJV.

Paul, the apostle, by the Holy Spirit's inspiration is here expressing the idea of considering all things as dung in comparison to the greatness of knowing Christ Jesus. The willingness to relinquish carnal comforts and gains in order to enjoy spiritual relationship and fulfilment with God.

To go the extra mile for the sake of the Gospel of God's Kingdom, you must be willing to sacrifice, no matter what it may cost you. This can come in form of trials, temptations, persecution etc. The Gospel cost the early apostles and missionaries their lives yet they counted it not as loss but gain. For Paul, the apostle, he was willing to put up with anything for the sake of the Gospel.

What sacrifice are you, as a believer in Christ Jesus willing to make for the sake of the Gospel and God's Kingdom?

If it has to be, it's up to you.

PRAYER BULLETS:

Father LORD, please keep me committed to love You more, and give me the willingness to make whatever sacrifices required of me in following You.

FURTHER READING:

Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 6:33; Mark 1:1-45; John 3:16-18.
