* DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 170*
*DATE: 19TH JUNE 2026*
*TOPIC: BUILDING A STRONG FOUNDATION*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 7:24 (KJV)*
*“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.”*
*Devotional message:*

One truth that every believer must understand is that every foundation will eventually be tested. Storms, trials, temptations, persecutions, disappointments, and the various challenges of life will come. The ability to withstand these pressures is largely determined by how deeply your foundation has been established in God.

Many believers fall prey to the deceptions of the enemy not because they have never heard God's Word, but because their foundation is shallow. They possess a general knowledge of Scripture, yet they lack depth in understanding and application. As a result, when temptation arises or difficult circumstances appear, they are easily shaken and persuaded to compromise their faith.

We see this in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve had received God's instruction, yet when the serpent questioned and twisted God's Word, they yielded to deception. Their understanding of what God had said was not firmly established enough to withstand the enemy's manipulation.

In contrast, when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He stood firmly upon the Word of God. Every temptation presented by Satan was answered with Scripture. Jesus demonstrated that victory over deception comes through a deep knowledge of God's Word and unwavering confidence in what God has spoken.

Peter also provides a lesson for believers. Although he genuinely loved the Lord, there was a moment when fear and pressure caused him to deny Jesus. Yet after being strengthened and established in God, he became a bold witness who stood firmly for Christ despite persecution and opposition.

This teaches us that hearing sermons alone is not enough. Attending church services, conferences, and prayer meetings is important, but every believer must also cultivate a personal relationship with God through consistent study of Scripture, prayer, meditation, and obedience. It is in the secret place that foundations are strengthened.

A strong foundation enables a believer to remain faithful when opportunities for compromise arise. Whether in business, government, the workplace, school, or ministry, a deeply rooted believer will not trade Christ for wealth, popularity, promotion, or temporary pleasure. Such a person understands that God's promises are trustworthy and that what He has spoken will surely come to pass in His appointed time.

Child of God, invest time in building your foundation. Let the Word of God dwell richly within you. Develop a vibrant prayer life and anchor yourself in God's promises. Then when the storms of life come, you will remain standing, unshaken and victorious.

A strong and deeply rooted foundation in God's Word and prayer enables believers to withstand life's storms and resist the deceptions of the enemy.

*Prayer:*

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word. Help me to build my life upon the solid foundation of Scripture and obedience to Your will. Deepen my understanding of Your truth and strengthen my prayer life. May I remain steadfast in times of testing and stand firm against every deception of the enemy. Establish me in Your promises and help me to remain faithful to You in every season. In Jesus' name, Amen.
