Today we share from the interesting book of Joshua. One of main thing we learn in this book is all about is putting away fear, listening and following God's instructions. We see that walking with God is not a matter of 'once saved always saved' but rather remaining in Savior and Savior in us. We see Joshua victory against Jericho but then all of sudden defeat by Amalekites at Ai! In victory, a man called Achan sinned by disobeying God by stealing from plunder God had instructed to be completely destroyed. Thirty soldiers lost their lives! Joshua didn't know what was happening until he asked God. Later Achan is exposed through God's instructions; he, his family and all that belonged to him are stoned to death! A mob justice instructed by God. Do you see seriousness of seen in God's presence? Do you see need to obey and avoid intentional sins? Are you still there saying that you're too weak to overcome a certain sin knowing that for sure it is leading you to death? Joshua and his soldier then fight back Ai and this time they win and for Ai, God allows them to take plunder. See how listening to God works. His previous instructions might not be valid now. You need to keep listening step by step. You need to read your Bible and pray every day. Listen to God's still voice! Jesus taught in Matthew 9:17 NLT “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.” Do you understand this? Each new day you need have open mindset to Holy Spirit lead! You cannot be just held to your past traditions and experiences. Each day is a new reason to listen and live in God's leading. Brethren, He who called you is faithful. His grace is sufficient for you but don't take that for granted and live recklessly and lazily.
