🙏🛐The power of prayer-5🛐🙏 📖✝️🕊️Syllabus-35🕊️✝️📖 "And Isaac prayed unto the LORD for his wife, because she was barren. And the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived." Genesis 25:21 There is no specific list of what can be accomplished through prayer. We have seen before that mountains can be moved by prayer, the heavens can be closed, prison doors can be opened, the dead can be raised, etc. The power of prayer knows no bounds. In short, it can do anything that is necessary to bring glory and honor to God. The Lord Jesus also has abundant promises regarding this. In John 16:23, He says, "Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father for in my name, he will give it to you." When the bride was chosen for Isaac, Rebekah was chosen according to God's will. But after their marriage, Rebekah was found to be barren. Rebekah spent about 20 years in barrenness. This incident must have been a great test for Isaac and Rebekah. God promised Abraham that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky (Genesis 15:5) and that his descendants would be called Isaac (Genesis 21:12). Isaac must have known about this promise. Again, God had chosen Rebekah; yet it was evident that Rebekah was barren. So how could God's promise be fulfilled? Abraham also had the same problem with Sarah. Sarah was also barren (Genesis 11:30). Rachel, whom Jacob first loved, was also barren (Genesis 19:31). But through the great power of prayer, all three women were able to conceive. "The barren woman gave birth to seven sons, but the one who had many sons became feeble." 1 Samuel 2:5.
