Power of prayer-6
Syllabus-36
"That day Joshua prayed to the Lord, and he said in the sight of Israel, "Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and moon, in the valley of Aijalon." So the sun stood still, and the moon stood still."
Joh 10: 12-13
The newly appointed Joshua had just entered the land of Canaan. All the countries were before them to conquer. But already the news of their power had spread throughout the land. The Gibeonites were afraid and made peace with Israel. Then the five kings of the Amorites consulted together and attacked the Gibeonites. Then they were helpless and sent a message to Joshua that he should come quickly and save us. Then Joshua set out for Gibeon with all the warriors and strong warriors to fight against the five kings. A great battle began on both sides. Joshua saw that if he could not destroy all the enemies, they would flee and join other kings and the battle would become even more fierce. Therefore, it was necessary to destroy them while there was still daylight. The enemy had a countless army. How many more could he kill? The afternoon had passed. The sun would set. Night would come. But all the enemies had not been destroyed. What could be done? But Joshua was not impatient. He knew that God was fighting for them. He had killed many of the enemy with hailstones. But there were still many of the enemy. So he prayed to God in faith and commanded the sun and the moon, โSun, stand still over Gibeon, and moon, in the valley of Aijalon.โ Then the sun stood still, and the moon remained still until all the enemy had fallen. It is written, โAnd the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down for about a whole day.โ What a wonderful power of prayer!
"God is mighty in the assembly of the saints; you also are the ones who are in the midst of the assembly." Psalm 89:7
"Awesome on everyone around."
