Good evening, brethren.

ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
SATURDAY, 27TH JUNE, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
EXAMPLES OF GOD'S AMAZING GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
THE JAILER.
*TEXT:*
ACTS 16:27-34.
27 When the jailer woke up and saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, presuming that the prisoners had escaped.
28 But Paul called out in a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself! We are all here!”
29 Calling for lights, the jailer rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.
30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Luk 3:10 Act 2:37 Act 9:6.
31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.” Joh 3:16 Joh 3:36 Joh 6:47 1Jn 5:10.
32 Then Paul and Silas spoke the word of the Lord to him and to everyone in his house.
33 At that hour of the night, the jailer took them and washed their wounds. And without delay, he and all his household were baptized.
34 Then he brought them into his home and set a meal before them. So he and all his household rejoiced that they had come to believe in God. Luk 5:29 Luk 19:6.
*TOPIC:*
THE JAILER.
*THE MESSAGE:*
In biblical times, jailers were held strictly accountable for their prisoners, facing death if any escaped. This explains why the jailer in Acts 16 tried to take his life when he thought the prisoners had escaped. Paul stopped him, assuring him that no one had fled. Deeply moved, the jailer asked how he could be saved. He was led to Jesus, and he and his household were saved. In gratitude, he cared for Paul and Silas. The jailer encountered divine Grace at the brink of death, and his life was transformed. This story highlights how God can bring redemption and transformation. Even in the darkest moments, God still offers hope and peace through faith in Christ.
Are you facing hardship or distress and thinking of suicide as an option?
Do not harm yourself; instead, turn to Jesus and obtain His mercy.
*REFLECTION:*
God is never late.
*PRAYER:*
Thank You, Father, for always being on time. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
JOHN 1:16.
"From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another."
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
PSALM 135-139.
2. Evening Prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. ⏤ Psalm 19:14
Our lives are richer when each lesson learned is a step closer to Him. ⏤ F.B. Meyer
As the week comes to a close, we come to You, Father, in this evening prayer, entrusting ourselves to You. Bless all the days that have passed, and use the work we have done for Your glory. Impress upon our hearts the lessons we have learned this week, so that we may not forget them. May our lives be richer because of them, and may we put into practice what You have taught us.
Bless the teachings from Your Word that we have received during this week. May they take root in our hearts and shape our character, making us more like You. Bless the influence of our lives on others. Those who have seen us have observed how we live. Our words may have been spoken in passing, but they have fallen on ears and into hearts, leaving a lasting impact. May You bless this influence. Prevent any harm from coming from our actions, and let those who have encountered us carry something good from our lives into theirs. May we also be blessed by the good and beautiful lives we have seen, growing stronger and holier because of them. Help us to be a blessing to others.
As we go to rest now, we ask for Your protection. Enfold us in Your everlasting arms, keeping us safe from the world’s dangers. Forgive our sins, wash us in the blood of Jesus, and fill us with Your Spirit. Give us restful sleep and prepare us for a day of worship tomorrow. We ask all this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.
