Good morning, brethren.
1. Morning devotion for today.

MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY MONDAY JUNE 29, 2026.
"THREE OBSTACLES"

'...Remove the obstacles out of the way…’  Isaiah 57:14 NIV

IN BIBLE days marathons weren’t run on smooth tracks, but over pathways filled with obstacles that could cause a runner to stumble and lose the race. Here are three obstacles you need to look out for as you run your life’s race: 1) an unforgiving attitude. ‘…If you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses’ (Mark 11:26 NKJV). When the mention of someone’s name triggers resentment, stop and pray, ‘Father, I forgive them as You’ve forgiven me. Whatever I ask for myself in blessing, I ask for them in double measure.’ When you retaliate, you deny God the right to show mercy and deal with the situation His way. Don’t play God. You’ve received mercy—pass it on! 2) an unhealthy relationship. Paul writes, ‘…Bad company corrupts good character’ (1 Corinthians 15:33 NLT). On the journey of life, you get to choose your travelling companions. If you give your time to those who aren’t worthy of it, you’ve no right to complain. Become more selective. Choose your friends from among those who share your values, understand your God-given purpose and strengthen you. 3) an undecided heart. Paul writes, ‘…I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize…’ (Philippians 3:13-14 TLB). A decided heart is the result of a made-up mind. It’s what separates the winners from the losers. Pour your life into something more than self-interest; commit to a purpose that will outlive you!

MD.ii. JESUS REIGNS

"God reigns over the nations; God is seated on His holy throne." - Psalm 47:9

The Bible says that Jesus reigns over all the earth, over all the nations of the world. Everything is subjected to Him. Because Jesus has humbled Himself to the will of His Father, God has given Him the highest place and the highest title. Sometimes life seems so difficult when everything goes wrong all day long... Sometimes it seems like the evil one rules, as if he is in charge. Sometimes it seems like all doors are closed. Heaven seems not reachable, and yet... we have to believe and confess: Jesus reigns on His eternal throne; Jesus is Lord!

Not without God's approval

Even when nothing is going well, you should still say: Jesus rules! It is not the government who reigns... or do you think it is? It is Jesus who reigns! God and God alone reigns! Nothing happens without God's approval; if God does not want it, it will not happen. Everything happening in your life takes place after approval from God. We sometimes do not know why something has happened to us, but God knows.

People think they have achieved a lot of things; the great leaders of the world thought they had knocked down the Berlin Wall. There are other major events of which the leaders say: 'we have done that.' But God exalts and puts down whom He wants! He appoints kings and presidents.

You could ask why something has happened, but you could also surrender the circumstance to God. Read Isaiah 40:12-14: 'Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, or with the breadth of His hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? Who can fathom the Spirit of the Lord, or instruct the Lord as his counselor? Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten Him, and who taught Him the right way? Who was it that taught Him knowledge or showed Him the path of understanding?'

Morning Prayer for today.

MP.i. Morning Prayer

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. ⏤ Psalm 23:5

Let Sunday’s joy fill each weekday, making every day holy in His light. ⏤ J.R. Miller

Father, may the light of Sunday shine throughout our entire week. May the blessings of Sunday overflow into the ordinary days, like a fountain that never runs dry, making each day holier, brighter, sweeter, purer, and happier.

As we return to our work and responsibilities, help us to be diligent and faithful. We have had our day of rest, and now we hear Your command to work. Save us from laziness and half-heartedness. Whatever we do, may we do it with all our might, knowing that time is short and precious. Help us to make the most of every moment, doing our work with energy and care, all for Your glory.

Help us to make this week the best we have ever lived — a week of usefulness, spiritual growth, learning, love, and service to others.

We ask You to forgive our sins and to make us more aware of our need for Your cleansing. Let no sin gain control over us. Subdue all evil desires within us. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation. Send us out today as Your messengers, carrying words of comfort and life to others, and doing Your work in the world. Help us to be a blessing to many. Give us a day filled with purpose, and bring us together at its end in peace and love. We ask all this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.
