JULY – DAY 2 – MORNING REFLECTION
Theme:BUILDING TRUST, ONE DAY AT A TIME
Trust Begins with Truth
Good Morning!
There is an old saying in many Ghanaian homes: "Once a cracked bowl begins to leak, every drop of water reminds you of the crack." Trust can be like that. A single lie may seem small, but it can leave questions that linger long after the words are forgotten.
A young husband once told his wife he was "still at the office." In reality, he had stopped to watch football with friends. He thought it was harmless. Later that evening, she found out by chance. It wasn't the football that hurt her—it was the unnecessary lie. From that day on, every late arrival raised fresh doubts.
Many relationships are not destroyed by major betrayals. They are weakened by small dishonesties repeated over time.
God calls us to be people whose words can be trusted. When your spouse knows that your "yes" means yes and your "no" means no, peace grows naturally in your home.
God's Word
"Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body." — Ephesians 4:25
Today's Challenge
Choose complete honesty today, even if the truth feels uncomfortable. Truth may be difficult for a moment, but dishonesty often creates pain that lasts much longer.
Let's Talk
Has someone's honesty ever strengthened your trust in them? Share your experience in the comments.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, make me a person of integrity. Help my words bring confidence, peace, and security into my relationships. Teach me to speak the truth in love. Amen.
Lewis Addai-Baah Marriage Nugget:
"Trust is not built by impressive promises; it is built by consistent truthfulness."
Remember:
In marriage, it is not about winning the argument; it is about winning each other's hearts.
