*SERMON: HUMILITY UNLOCKS HEALING AND RESTORATION*
*Text: 1 Peter 5:6* – _“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.”_ NIV

---

*[INTRO]*
We all want God to lift us. We pray for healing, restoration, breakthrough. But Peter shows us the position for lifting: _under God’s mighty hand._
*Key:* God doesn’t lift the proud. He lifts the humble. *Humility is the key that unlocks what pride keeps locked.*

*1. HUMILITY MEANS SUBMISSION TO GOD’S HAND*
_“Humble yourselves… under God’s mighty hand”_

*James 4:7* – _“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”_
*Job 42:5-6* – Job said, _“My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”_ After that, God restored him double *Job 42:10*.

*Truth:* God’s hand is _mighty_ – strong enough to crush or to cure. When you stop fighting His hand, His hand starts fighting for you.
*Isaiah 57:15* – _“I live… with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”_

*Application:* What area are you wrestling with God about? Surrender is the first step to healing. *Psalm 51:17* – _“A broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.”_

*2. HUMILITY RELEASES HEALING*
Pride hides wounds. Humility exposes them to the Healer.

*2 Chronicles 7:14* – _“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray… then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”_
*Luke 18:13-14* – The tax collector beat his chest: _“God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”_ Jesus said _“this man went home justified.”_ The Pharisee went home empty.

*Truth:* You can’t be healed and hide at the same time. *Proverbs 28:13* – _“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”_
*Application:* Bring God your broken, not your brave. He heals what you reveal.

*3. HUMILITY ACTIVATES RESTORATION*
_“…that he may lift you up in due time.”_

*Luke 1:52* – _“He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.”_
*Psalm 147:6* – _“The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.”_
*Proverbs 3:34* – _“He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.”_

*Bible Pattern:*
- *Joseph* – Humbled in prison, lifted to the palace *Genesis 41:40*
- *David* – Humbled after sin with Bathsheba, restored as a man after God’s heart *Psalm 51*
- *Naaman* – Humbled himself in Jordan river, skin restored like a child *2 Kings 5:14*

*Truth:* God’s “due time” comes after your “humble bow.” *Ecclesiastes 3:1* – There’s a time to be brought low and a time to be lifted up. You don’t set the clock – but you do set the posture.

*4. PRIDE DELAYS WHAT HUMILITY DELIVERS*
*1 Peter 5:5* – _“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”_
If God is opposing you, no man’s approval can promote you.

*Daniel 4:37* – Nebuchadnezzar learned: _“Those who walk in pride he is able to humble.”_ After 7 years of insanity, he looked up, honored God, and his sanity + kingdom were restored.

*Application:* Your breakthrough is waiting on your bow. *Matthew 23:12* – _“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”_

*Micah 6:8* – _“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”_
Healing and restoration aren’t earned by performance. They’re accessed by posture.

The mighty hand that discipline you is the same mighty hand that will lift you. But it lifts from low places.

*Isaiah 66:2* – _“These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.”_

*[PRAYER]*
Father, I humble myself under Your mighty hand today. I let go of pride, offense, and self-defense. I give You my wounds, my failures, my broken places. Heal me, Lord. Restore me, Lord. I trust Your timing. Lift me up in Your due time, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

*Declaration:* _I bow low so He can lift me high. Humility is my pathway to healing. Restoration is coming in due time._

God won’t heal what you’re still pretending isn’t broken. Humble yourself, and watch Him lift you._
