Answer to Prayer-3
Educational Series-43
"Then Mary said, 'Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.'"
**Luke 1:38**
When we can surrender ourselves into the will of God, our lives become meaningful. But surrendering oneself to His will is not always an easy matter. Because, firstly, to do that, we need to crucify our own will. Every person has their own desire or goal. Whether it is good or bad, they strive with all their might to carry out their own will. But when they understand God's purpose in their life, they must either crucify their own will or reject the will of God. Secondly, to fulfill His will, it is often necessary to accept the condemnation and defamation of the world.
When Mary understood that it was God's will for the Messiah to come into her womb through the Holy Spirit without the agency of a man, she also realized that the people of the world would misunderstand her and she would have to endure much slander and insult. Many would turn up their noses at her, calling her a sinful woman. But she was willing to accept disgrace for God and surrendered herself to His will. Perhaps Mary had her own desires regarding her family life, for which she was betrothed to Joseph. Nevertheless, she crucified her own will and said to fulfill God's will, "Behold, the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." What a wonderful surrender and sacrifice. Those who are willing to accept all kinds of disgrace and suffering for God, God glorifies them. Today she is blessed because she surrendered herself to God's purpose.
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind."
