THE TREASURE AND THE FIELD

```TEXT: MATTHEW 13:44-46```
```KEY VERSE:``` "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field" (MATTHEW 13:44).

Jesus told parables to hide truth from the proud and reveal it to the hungry. In this short story, a man stumbles into a treasure buried in a field. He doesn’t negotiate. He doesn’t hesitate. For joy, he sells everything to buy the whole field. The Kingdom is not something you add to your life. It is something you give your life for. And Calvary shows us why: Jesus saw treasure in you and gave all He had to redeem you.

Three truths about the treasure: One, the Kingdom is worth everything. “Selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.” What you give up is nothing compared to what you gain. The Cross proves the price — God didn’t spare His Son. Two, the joy makes the cost small. “For joy thereof goeth.” This man isn’t losing; he’s winning. When you see Jesus rightly, obedience stops feeling like loss. Three, Jesus is the ultimate Buyer. We find the treasure, but don’t forget: He found us first. He saw the field of humanity, saw you hidden in it, and for the joy set before Him, He endured the cross. You are the treasure He wouldn’t let go.

What are you holding that’s keeping you from Him today? Reputation, sin you justify, comfort you won’t surrender? The man in the parable didn’t lose a field — he gained a kingdom. Don’t clutch pebbles when diamonds are offered. The same Jesus who gave all at Calvary is worth all you have. Sell out, and buy in.

✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` When you find Christ, you stop counting the cost and start counting it all joy.
