THE TREASURE AND THE FIELD
```TEXT: MATTHEW 13:44-46```
```KEY VERSE:``` "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field" (MATTHEW 13:44).
Jesus told parables to hide truth from the proud and reveal it to the hungry. In this short story, a man stumbles into a treasure buried in a field. He doesnтАЩt negotiate. He doesnтАЩt hesitate. For joy, he sells everything to buy the whole field. The Kingdom is not something you add to your life. It is something you give your life for. And Calvary shows us why: Jesus saw treasure in you and gave all He had to redeem you.
Three truths about the treasure: One, the Kingdom is worth everything. тАЬSelleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.тАЭ What you give up is nothing compared to what you gain. The Cross proves the price тАФ God didnтАЩt spare His Son. Two, the joy makes the cost small. тАЬFor joy thereof goeth.тАЭ This man isnтАЩt losing; heтАЩs winning. When you see Jesus rightly, obedience stops feeling like loss. Three, Jesus is the ultimate Buyer. We find the treasure, but donтАЩt forget: He found us first. He saw the field of humanity, saw you hidden in it, and for the joy set before Him, He endured the cross. You are the treasure He wouldnтАЩt let go.
What are you holding thatтАЩs keeping you from Him today? Reputation, sin you justify, comfort you wonтАЩt surrender? The man in the parable didnтАЩt lose a field тАФ he gained a kingdom. DonтАЩt clutch pebbles when diamonds are offered. The same Jesus who gave all at Calvary is worth all you have. Sell out, and buy in.
