SERMON TITLE:

THE ENEMY ATTACKS WHAT HE FEARS MOST

Main Texts:

Job 1:8–12; Exodus 1:8–12; Matthew 2:13–16; Luke 22:31–32; 1 Peter 5:8–10

One of the greatest mistakes believers make is assuming that every intense battle means God has abandoned them. The truth is often the opposite. The fiercest attacks frequently come because heaven has invested something valuable in your life.
A thief does not break into an empty house. A hunter does not pursue an animal that has no value. Likewise, Satan does not waste his greatest weapons on lives that pose no threat to his kingdom.
If the enemy is fighting your faith, your family, your ministry, your calling, your purity, or your purpose, it may be because he sees what God intends to accomplish through you.
Your attack is not always a sign of weakness; it can be evidence of significance.

KEY BIBLE VERSES

1. Job 1:8–12
God declared that Job was blameless and upright. Satan immediately sought permission to attack him.

Lesson: Satan attacked Job because of his integrity and influence. The enemy feared the testimony of a righteous man whose faith could not be bought or broken.
2. Exodus 1:8–12
Pharaoh ordered the oppression and killing of Hebrew male children because he feared Israel's growth.

Lesson: The greater God's blessing became, the greater Pharaoh's opposition. Yet the Bible says, "The more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied."
3. Matthew 2:13–16
King Herod attempted to kill the infant Jesus.

Lesson: Before Jesus preached a sermon or performed a miracle, hell recognized His destiny. The attack revealed the greatness of His assignment.
4. Luke 22:31–32
Jesus told Peter:
«"Simon, Simon, Satan has desired to have you... but I have prayed for you."»
Peter was attacked because he would become one of the pillars of the early Church.

POINT 1: THE ENEMY RECOGNIZES DESTINY BEFORE MANY PEOPLE DO
Often, people may overlook your potential, but the kingdom of darkness recognizes it.
Joseph was hated because of his dreams.
David was pursued because of his anointing.
Moses was targeted because he would become a deliverer.
Whenever God places greatness inside someone, opposition often follows.
Spiritual Insight: Your warfare may be connected to your calling rather than your mistakes.
POINT 2: THE GREATEST ATTACKS OFTEN PRECEDE THE GREATEST BREAKTHROUGHS

Jesus was tempted before beginning His public ministry.
Joseph was imprisoned before entering the palace.
David fought Goliath before wearing the crown.
The enemy wants you to quit just before God opens the next door.
Do not interpret delay as denial. God is preparing you while the enemy is trying to discourage you.
POINT 3: SATAN ATTACKS TO STOP MULTIPLICATION
The devil understands that one obedient believer can transform a family, a community, or even a nation.
He attacks:
- Marriages because of godly generations.
- Prayer lives because of spiritual authority.
- Ministries because of eternal impact.
- Young people because of future leadership.
The enemy is not merely after your present; he is attempting to destroy your future.
POINT 4: GOD ALWAYS PROVIDES GRACE GREATER THAN THE ATTACK
The attack never comes without God's sustaining grace.
Paul experienced a thorn, but God's answer was:
"My grace is sufficient for you."
Every battle comes with divine strength.
God never abandons those He calls.
What Satan intends for destruction, God transforms into testimony.

BIBLICAL CASE STUDY.

Joseph

Joseph experienced betrayal, slavery, false accusation, and imprisonment.

Each attack appeared to move him farther from God's promise.
Yet every painful season became a stepping stone toward the palace.
The brothers intended evil.
Potiphar's wife intended destruction.
The prison intended confinement.
But God used every attack to position Joseph as a savior during famine.

Your greatest attack may become the pathway to your greatest assignment.

PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS

1. Refuse to panic when opposition increases.
2. Stay rooted in prayer and God's Word.
3. Guard your heart against bitterness.
4. Remain faithful in every season.
5. Remember that God's purpose is stronger than Satan's plans.

DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS

- Every genuine calling attracts spiritual resistance.
- Satan attacks potential before manifestation.
- God often allows testing to produce maturity.
- Spiritual battles reveal the value of what God has placed within you.
- No attack can cancel God's purpose when you remain faithful.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

- What area of my life is facing the greatest opposition?
- Could this battle be connected to God's purpose for my life?
- Am I responding with fear or with faith?
- How can I remain steadfast until God's promise is fulfilled?
- What lessons is God teaching me through this season?

POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, strengthen me to stand firm in every battle in the name of Jesus.
2. Every attack against my destiny shall be turned into a testimony in Jesus' name.
3. Every plan of the enemy against my family and calling is destroyed by the power of God.
4. Lord, preserve the purpose You have placed within me.
5. I receive wisdom, courage, and endurance to finish my divine assignment.
6. Every weapon formed against me shall not prosper.
7. I declare that what God has ordained for my life shall surely come to pass.

CONCLUSION

Do not measure your future by your present battle.

The enemy attacks what he fears most because he recognizes the potential God has placed within you. Yet Satan has never won a battle against God's ultimate purpose.
Stand firm.
Keep praying.
Keep believing.
Keep obeying.
The same God who preserved Moses from Pharaoh, protected Joseph in prison, sustained Job in suffering, strengthened Peter after failure, and raised Jesus from the grave will also preserve you.
Your attack is temporary, but God's purpose is eternal.

CALL TO ACTION

Do not surrender to fear or discouragement. Rise in faith, deepen your walk with God, and continue pursuing the assignment He has entrusted to you. The battle may be intense, but the victory belongs to the Lord. The very area the enemy has attacked may become the greatest testimony of God's power in your life.May the Lord use this message to strengthen His people and inspire steadfast faith in every season.
