Daily Devotion: Colossians 2:6-7

“Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with him. Keep your roots deep in him, build your lives on him, and become stronger in your faith, as you were taught. And be filled with thanksgiving.”

This should be no news to a Christian. We’ve accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we’ve been forgiven, washed by His blood on the Cross; we should be filled with gratitude and joy, whatever the circumstances.

Now, I know, life happens. Things can go seriously south sometimes and, being human beings, we falter in faith. I want to reassure you today that in Christ there is NO REASON to disbelieve or to wonder about the purpose of it all. In Christ there is the everlasting peace that you have a Home, you have an Almighty Father, a Lord that loved you so much that He gave His life for you. YOU ARE NOT ALONE…..EVER! Not if your faith in Jesus’ sacrifice and subsequent resurrection is your foundation.

Isaiah 28:16: “This, now, is what the Sovereign LORD says: ‘I am placing in Zion a foundation that is firm and strong. In it I am putting a solid cornerstone on which are written the words, ‘Faith that is firm is also patient.”

Prayer – Dear Lord, help us to stand firm in faith in every situation. Life in the world is not easy, You should know. Please give us the strength to remain loyal to Your Holy Name and build on Your foundation a solid structure. Amen.
