DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 187
DATE: 6TH JULY 2026
TOPIC: FRUIT THAT LASTS_1
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: JOHN 15:5 (NKJV)
"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
Devotional message
God does not only desire that we bear fruit—He desires that our fruit remains. Lasting fruit is the evidence of a life that continually abides in Christ. Just as a river continues to flow because it remains connected to its source, believers can only continue bearing fruit when they remain connected to God, the true Source of life.
Jesus taught that no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine. This means that everything that begins with God—whether in ministry, family, marriage, business, leadership, education, governance, or any other area of life—must also be sustained by God. What is birthed by God can only endure through continual fellowship with Him.
Our perfect example is Jesus Christ. Throughout His earthly ministry, He continually withdrew to spend time with the Father. Early in the morning He sought God in solitary places, and after ministering to the multitudes, He often withdrew again to pray. Because He remained in constant fellowship with the Father, His wisdom never ran dry, His compassion never failed, and His ministry continually produced lasting fruit through miracles, signs, wonders, and transformed lives.
The apostles followed the same pattern. Scripture records that they devoted themselves to prayer, fellowship, the teaching of the Word, and worship. Their continual dependence upon God enabled them to impact cities and nations with the Gospel. Their influence has endured through generations because they understood that without Christ they could do nothing.
Daniel also demonstrates this truth. Although he served under different kingdoms and rulers, he remained faithful in prayer and communion with God. His consistent fellowship with the Lord gave him wisdom, favour, and spiritual excellence that preserved his influence throughout his lifetime.
Child of God, if you desire to bear fruit that lasts, remain connected to Christ. Do not rely on yesterday's experiences or past victories. Continue daily in prayer, the study of God's Word, worship, and fellowship with Him. The secret to lasting impact is not human ability but continual dependence upon the One who is the true Vine.
Lasting fruit is produced and sustained by continually abiding in Christ through prayer, His Word, worship, and fellowship.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the true Vine and the source of my life. Help me to remain connected to You each day through prayer, Your Word, worship, and obedience. Teach me never to depend on my own strength but to rely continually upon Your grace. May my life produce fruit that glorifies You and remains for generations to come. In Jesus' name, Amen.
