*🔥 DAILY PRAYER DEVOTIONAL MONDAY 6TH. JULY 2026🔥* *THEME: UNFORGIVENESS—A HIDDEN DOOR TO SATAN'S OPPRESSION* *TEXT: Ephesians 4:26-27* *"Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil."* *DAILY READING* Matthew 18:21–35; Ephesians 4:26–32 🔥 Not every prison has iron bars. Some people are imprisoned by bitterness, resentment, hatred, and unforgiveness. They smile in public but carry deep wounds in their hearts. Satan delights when people refuse to forgive because unforgiveness becomes fertile ground for his destructive work. Many people have been deeply wounded by betrayal, abuse, abandonment, false accusations, family conflicts, or broken relationships. God does not ignore such pain. He understands it. However, He warns us not to allow our wounds to become weapons that Satan uses against us. The devil knows that an unforgiving heart gradually hardens. Prayer becomes difficult, love grows cold, peace disappears, and joy is replaced by anger. Broken relationships often multiply, and many people remain emotionally and spiritually bound for years because they refuse to release those who have offended them. In many African families, and globally, long-standing disputes over inheritance, marriage, land, or tribal differences have divided generations. Some families have refused to speak to one another for decades. Such bitterness destroys homes, churches, friendships, and communities. While people often blame witches or curses, they sometimes overlook the destructive power of hatred and unforgiveness. The Bible says, "Neither give place to the devil." One of the ways believers give him a foothold is by refusing to forgive. Forgiveness does not mean pretending that evil never happened, nor does it always remove earthly consequences. It means releasing the offender into God's hands instead of allowing bitterness to rule your heart. Jesus Christ is our perfect example. Even while suffering on the cross, He prayed, *"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."* If Christ forgave us our countless sins, He also gives us the grace to forgive others. Today, ask yourself: Is there someone I need to forgive? Your freedom may begin the moment you release them to God. *ADDITIONAL BIBLE REFERENCE* *Matthew 6:14-15* "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." *Colossians 3:13* "Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye." *Hebrews 12:15* "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled." *2 Corinthians 2:10-11* "To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also... Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." *Romans 12:19* "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." *KEY LESSONS* 1. Unforgiveness gives Satan an opportunity to influence our lives. 2. Bitterness destroys the person who harbors it. 3. Forgiveness is an act of obedience to God, not approval of wrongdoing. 4. Christ is our example of forgiveness. 5. Forgiveness brings spiritual freedom and healing. *PRAYER POINTS* 1. Heavenly Father, thank You for forgiving my sins through Jesus Christ. 2. Abba Father, search my heart and expose every root of bitterness, hatred, resentment, and unforgiveness. 3. Precious Holy Spirit, give me the grace to forgive those who have hurt me. 4. Every spirit of bitterness operating in my life, come out now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. 5. Every chain of hatred and resentment holding my heart captive, be broken, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. 6. Every plan of Satan to destroy my life through unforgiveness, fail completely, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. 7. Every emotional wound that the enemy continues to exploit, receive the healing power of God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. 8. Blessed Lord, restore peace, unity, and love in my family and relationships. 9. Heavenly Father, help me to overcome evil with good. 10. Every satanic foothold gained through anger and bitterness, be destroyed by the blood of Jesus Christ, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. 11. Precious Holy Spirit, fill my heart with the love, mercy, and compassion of Christ. 12. I declare that I am free from bitterness. I forgive as Christ forgave me, and I shall walk in peace, joy, and victory, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. *PROPHETIC DECLARATION* *I declare today that every chain of bitterness and unforgiveness is broken. My heart is healed by the love of Christ. I refuse to give Satan any place in my life. I shall walk in peace, forgiveness, and the joy of the Holy Spirit. Every relationship ordained by God for my destiny shall flourish, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.* *DAILY CONFESSION* *I have been forgiven by God through Jesus Christ. Therefore, I choose to forgive others. Bitterness shall not rule my heart. The love of Christ fills me, the peace of God guides me, and the Holy Spirit strengthens me daily. I am free indeed.* *ACTION STEP* *Prayerfully write down the names of anyone you are still struggling to forgive. Bring each person before God in prayer and deliberately release them into His hands.
