Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
THURSDAY 9TH JULY, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
LOSS OF PEACE.
*TEXTS:*
PSALM 37:38; ISAIAH 48:22.
*PSALM 37:38.*
38. But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future for the wicked.
*ISAIAH 48:22.*
22. “There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.”
*TOPIC:*
LOSS OF PEACE.
*THE MESSAGE:*
Peace is tranquility and calmness, even in the midst of violence. People who deliberately disregard God's grace live in disarray. Their life is characterised by fear, anxiety, and chaos. In this condition, the Psalmist declares that they have no hope for the future unless they return to God. Those who engage in acts of terrorism, kidnapping, fraudulence, armed robbery, rituals, and the like will not experience the peace of God. Sadly, those who claim to have professed Christ are often guilty of some of these sins in their pursuit of meeting their basic needs. Brethren know that there is no harmony between the path of wickedness and righteousness. Choose wisely and enjoy peace with God and man.
*REFLECTION:*
There's no peace for the wicked.
*PRAYER:*
Heavenly Father, I renounce wickedness in Jesus' name. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
HEBREWS 10:29.
How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
PROVERBS 30-31.

```TEXT:MATTHEW 6:27-34```
``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (MATTHEW 6:33).*_
*In our text, Jesus taught His disciples and the multitudes the importance of trusting God and prioritizing His kingdom over material concerns, such as food and clothing. Having anxiety over such things reflects lack of faith in God's provision, care, faithfulness, and sovereignty.*
*He reminds us that if our Heavenly Father can clothe the lilies of the field so beautifully, then He will certainly provide for His children, who are of far greater value to Him.*
*Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, requires believers to prioritize their relationship with God by loving Him above all else. This passage teaches us to focus on things which have eternal value, such as our salvation, holiness, consistent obedience to God's word, and spreading of the gospel. As we obey the Lord's command, God's promise of daily provision will be fulfilled in our lives.*
*Sinning youths should first give their hearts to Jesus, and then cast their care upon Him. He will take care of them. By putting God first, we align ourselves with His will, trusting that He will faithfully meet our needs and guide us through life's uncertainties.*
```QUOTE:``` _*He will faithfully meet our needs.*_
```CHALLENGE:``` _*Avoid worrying about the future, it ruins the present.*_
🏽🏽 ```PRAYER:``` _*O God, help me to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness.*_

2. Evening Prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God [is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. ⏤ Psalm 46:1
Faith is to prayer what the feather is to the arrow; it feathers the arrow of prayer and makes it fly swifter and pierce the throne of grace. ⏤ Thomas Watson
Night has fallen again, and we come to find refuge in You. You are our safe place and our strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. We don’t fear the darkness because You’re there too. It’s just Your way of wrapping us up in Your care. You’re as present in the darkness as You are in the light. Let the night cover us like Your wings—where we find safety, warmth, and blessing.
Not everything went well today. We had our struggles. Our hearts were hurt. But You are the healer—will You heal us? Take the tangled messes we’ve made, straighten them out, and weave them into something beautiful! Take the dark moments of today, the things that seem wrong, and by Your grace, turn them into blessings. Help us let go of the complicated parts of our lives that we can’t fix and trust You to bring good out of them.
We ask for a stronger faith so that we never doubt Your love or goodness. Save us from fear and from disbelief. Help our weak faith to grow. Help us see the invisible truths and rest on them like a solid rock!
Forgive the sins of this day. Thank You for all Your goodness. Watch over us tonight and bless us with restful sleep, giving us renewed strength. If we wake up in the morning, let us be ready for a new day of service. We ask all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
