* DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 193*
*DATE: 12TH JULY 2026*
TOPIC: GOD IS MORE INTERESTED IN YOUR BECOMING
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 6:33(NKJV)*
*"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness , and all these things shall be added to you."*
*Devotional message:*
God is more interested in who you are becoming than merely granting the requests you bring before Him. While our needs and desires matter to Him, His primary concern is to shape us into men and women who reflect His character and are prepared to carry His divine assignment on the earth. The blessings we often seek are, in many ways, the by-product of becoming the person God has called us to be.
This is why Jesus instructed His disciples to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. When our lives are aligned with God's will and our character is continually transformed, many of the things we desire begin to follow according to His perfect timing. God's blessings are not meant to replace His purpose; they are meant to support it.
Before God grants a request, He often prepares the person who will receive it. A genuine question every believer should ask is, Do I have the capacity to steward what I am asking God to give me? Our Heavenly Father is loving and wise. He will not entrust us with something that will ultimately destroy us or draw us away from Him. Therefore, He first works on our hearts, our character, our motives, and our obedience before releasing greater responsibilities and blessings.
Throughout Scripture, we see that God consistently prepared His servants before promoting them. He took Joseph through years of testing before placing him over Egypt. He formed David in the wilderness before enthroning him as king. Even Jesus invested years in preparing His disciples before entrusting them with the responsibility of advancing His Kingdom.
Jesus Himself said to His disciples, "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now" (John 16:12). They lacked the spiritual capacity to receive certain truths at that moment. Likewise, God may delay certain answers to our prayers, not because He has rejected us, but because He is increasing our capacity to carry what He intends to entrust to us.
Child of God, do not become discouraged if some of your prayers seem delayed. Instead of focusing only on what you desire God to give you, allow Him to shape who you are becoming. As you grow in righteousness, humility, faithfulness, wisdom, and obedience, you will be prepared to steward His blessings faithfully. In His appointed time, what you have been seeking will come—not as a burden, but as a blessing that advances His Kingdom and glorifies His Name.
God prepares the person before releasing the promise. Your becoming is more important than your receiving because lasting blessings require spiritual capacity and godly character.
*Prayer:*
Heavenly Father, thank You for caring more about my character than my comfort. Continue to shape me into the person You have called me to be.Help me to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that You will provide all that I need in Your perfect time. In Jesus' name, Amen.
