Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for the today.

ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
SUNDAY 12TH JULY, 2026.

*SUB-THEME:*
THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE.

*TOPIC:*
BONDAGE TO SIN.

*TEXT:*
JOHN 8:33-35.
33. They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”
34. Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
35. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.

*TOPIC:*
BONDAGE TO SIN.

*THE MESSAGE:*
Bondage is the state of being enslaved or lacking freedom. Satan enslaves people by enticing them to sin. He lied to Eve and tricked her to sin. He caused Cain to kill Abel. He turns people against the truth to subject them to bondage. Satan has never changed his tricks. Today's text describes him as a liar and a murderer. He deceives people into believing that lying, cheating, hatred, unforgiveness, fighting, and killings are normal. He turns them from the truth as well as giving them empty promises. The one who listens to and follows Satan consistently is in perpetual bondage. Are you in bondage of sin? Come to Jesus through faith and receive freedom that leads to eternal life (v. 21).

*REFLECTION:*
Do not be a slave to sin.

*PRAYER:*
Lord Jesus, free me from the shackles of Satan. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
HEBREWS 10:29.
How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
SONGS OF SONGS 1-4.

*DANGER OF PRIDE - 1* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽

```ACTS 12:20-25```
```Key Verse:``` _*"And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost" (Acts 12:23).*_

Herod was the king of Judea during the time of the apostles. He was a very wicked king who ordered James to be killed and Peter to be arrested and put in jail. He planned to kill Peter too, but the Church prayed, and Peter was miraculously delivered.

At this point, God did not bring judgment upon Herod, probably to give him a chance to repent. Yet, Herod hardened his heart and became proud. He had no regard for the miracle of the deliverance of Peter.

Now, the people gathered to tell him that he is equal with God. Instead of Herod to reject such praise, he was happy. He did not think of giving the glory to God. An angel of the Lord was sent to deliver Peter, while an angel of the Lord was also sent to strike down Herod the proud king. He was thereafter eaten up by worms.

The Bible says that *"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall"* (Proverbs 16:18). Pride is not the nature of God, and anyone who does not manifest the nature of God cannot see God at last. *Having the nature of God starts when a sinner repents and surrenders his life to Christ.*

*A child of God will in humility always give glory to God for all that he is able to achieve and become in life. Are you proud because of the achievements of your parents, or because you are an 'A' student? Reject pride and be humble.*

```rayer:``` _*Lord, help me to always be humble no matter what my achievements in life may be.*_ 🏽
Evening Prayer for today.
MP.i. Evening Prayer
A Song of degrees of David. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. ⏤ Psalm 122:1
Prayer is the way you defeat the devil, reach the lost, restore a backslider, strengthen the saints, send missionaries out, cure the sick, accomplish the impossible, and know the will of God. ⏤ David Jeremiah
At the end of Your holy day, our Father, we come to You with our evening prayers. May our prayers rise to You like incense. We thank You for what this day has brought us—rest, spiritual help, and instruction in divine things. We thank You for the glimpses of truth we’ve received as we’ve read Your word. We’re grateful for the good impulses and desires that have stirred in our hearts.
Make us strong to face life’s struggles. Give us more peace and confidence amid the world’s chaos and conflicts. May the holy influences of Sunday stay with us like sweet songs, and may we carry the music of gladness wherever we go in the coming week. May the light that has shone on us today make our faces brighter, so we can shine as lights in the world. May the kind thoughts and desires kindled in us by the Holy Spirit drive us to serve others as we go about our lives. In every way, may we carry a blessing into our daily lives that makes the world a little brighter and brings new joy to many hearts.
Bless the preaching of Your word everywhere today. May Your people be strengthened, the sorrowful comforted, and may many find new life in You starting this Sunday. May the world be holier, filled with more of the Spirit of Jesus, because Your people have remembered You today and have called down blessings on others. Pour out a large measure of Your love.
Forgive all our sins and failures in duty, and grant us Your grace and peace as we lie down to sleep. We ask all this through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.
