* DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 199*
*DATE: 18TH JULY 2026*
*TOPIC: LOVE YOURSELF _6*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)*
*"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life."*
*Devotional message:*
As we conclude our series on Love Yourself, we are reminded of one final and essential truth: if you truly love yourself, you will guard your heart and soul from anything that corrupts your relationship with God.
The Bible teaches that our hearts are the wellspring of life. Whatever we continually allow into our hearts through our eyes and ears eventually shapes our thoughts, desires, character, and actions. Therefore, believers must intentionally protect themselves from influences that grieve the Holy Spirit and quench the fire of God within them.
One area that requires great vigilance is what we choose to look at. Scripture calls us to pursue purity and holiness. Pornography, nudity, and other forms of sexually immoral content awaken sinful desires, corrupt the soul, and gradually weaken one's appetite for God and the things of His Kingdom. What may begin as curiosity can easily become bondage if it is continually entertained. Instead, fix your eyes on things that glorify God and promote purity.
Likewise, we must guard what we listen to. Our ears are gateways to our hearts. Whatever we repeatedly hear influences our thinking and eventually shapes our lifestyle. Therefore, be careful to avoid anything that encourages ungodliness, compromises your convictions, or draws your heart away from Christ. Instead, fill your ears with God's Word, worship, and teachings that strengthen your faith and deepen your fellowship with Him.
The enemy's desire is to corrupt your soul, weaken your spiritual passion, and hinder you from fulfilling God's purpose for your life. But when you diligently guard your heart, renew your mind with Scripture, and remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit, you preserve your intimacy with God and continue to grow spiritually.
Child of God, true self-love is not merely caring for your body or emotions—it is also protecting your soul. Make it your daily commitment to reject anything that grieves the Holy Spirit or diminishes your love for Christ. As you do so, you will remain spiritually healthy, fruitful, and effective in fulfilling the divine assignment God has entrusted to you.
Loving yourself includes guarding your heart, mind, and soul from anything that weakens your fellowship with God or hinders your spiritual growth.
*Prayer:*
Heavenly Father, thank You for the work You are doing in my life. Help me to guard my heart with diligence and to reject everything that grieves Your Holy Spirit. Give me the grace to keep my eyes, ears, and mind focused on what is pure, holy, and pleasing to You. Let my life continually burn with passion for Christ, and may nothing hinder me from fulfilling the purpose You have prepared for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
