Sunday, 19th July, 2026 TITLE: "Persevering Until the Promise Is Fulfilled" ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S) Hebrews 6:12 (KJV) "That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises." James 1:4 (KJV) "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON "God's promises are inherited not only through faith but also through patient endurance." DAY'S REFLECTION Many people begin their spiritual journey with great enthusiasm, but lasting victory belongs to those who continue faithfully until the end. The writer of Hebrews urges believers not to become lazy or discouraged but to imitate those who obtained God's promises through faith and patience. Faith believes God's Word, while patience waits confidently for His perfect timing. James teaches that patience is more than waiting; it is allowing God to complete His work in our lives. Trials, delays, and unanswered questions often become God's classroom, where perseverance, humility, and spiritual maturity are developed. The waiting season is not a wasted season when God is shaping His children. Imagine a skilled mason constructing a strong building. Each brick is laid carefully, one upon another. Progress may seem slow, but every step is necessary to ensure the structure can withstand storms. If the work is rushed, the building becomes weak. Likewise, God builds our lives with wisdom and purpose, preparing us to carry the blessings and responsibilities He has planned for us. Do not abandon your faith because the answer has not yet arrived. Continue praying, serving, obeying, and trusting the Lord. His delays are never denials. At the appointed time, His promises will be fulfilled, and you will look back and recognise that every season of waiting was part of His perfect plan. Faith and patience work together to obtain God's promises. 2. Waiting on God develops spiritual maturity. 3. God's timing is always perfect. 4. Perseverance strengthens character and hope. 5. Those who remain faithful will receive God's reward. EVERYDAY ACTION Trust God's timing today. Continue faithfully in prayer and obedience. Refuse to give up on God's promises. Encourage someone to remain steadfast. PRAYER Heavenly Father, strengthen my faith and teach me to wait patiently on You. Help me to persevere until every purpose You have for my life is fulfilled. In Jesus' name, Amen. DECLARATION I will not grow weary in doing good. Through faith and patience I will inherit God's promises. The Lord is perfecting His work in me.
